i was wondering if anybody knows how i can patch my current version (1.17) with the 1.05 patch

i have lost my cd key and i have a cd key grabber but only works with versions previous to 1.12

i searched google, what i found was this cd key grabber

Install the game
Patch to 1.12
Use cd key grabber
Play

Or
Find new keygen.

keygens dont allow you to play online... reinstalling the game would require the cd key

if i use a keygen to reinstall the game, the cd grabber wouldnt find my original key, therefore making my efforts worthless, and thus erasing my legit cd key

thats why im posting... im looking for assistance on how to do, not just to be told that thats what i need to do.

So i susgest to have a look in your registry (you havnt said if you have tried it and you havnt said if you havnt. Basically for all i know you havnt tried your registry. Your telling me to stop attempting to help you when your giving me such little infomation that when i susgest something you have already tried but not told us.

Go into your windows folder and open regedit.exe then have a look around, iv never really use the program before but within 3 minutes i had found this:

Its my (legit) Half Life 2 Steam account cd key, just check around im sure you could find it, if you really don't know and cannot find it i will install the game and check to see where the game stores the key and tell you so you can get yours back.

Wait, i explained to you how you could possibly get your key, i showed you an example, i even offered to install my copy and find where the game stores my key to help you and you call me an asshole :huh:

I didnt have a problem with you till now, when apparently attempting to help you is against the rules of Bowen's thread.

No by replying im just proving how much of an asshole you are, you are refusing help because for some reason you don't like me.

But no Bowen is right, iv been such an asshole trying to help you, makiing a picture, offering to find where my key is stored. And Bowen is an angel, who refuses help from people he does like.

I have just read the whole thread, and to be perfectly honest, you have just flamed a member for no good reason. Please do not do this again. Peerzy was trying to help you, and you were just plain rude. I am not surprised he got upset.


If you have a problem with a member, put them on ignore or you can pm a mod and we will try and sort it out in a civilised manner.
