100MB = 100MB
the 1GB service has not yet launched. (but when it will......)

but it's still pretty amazaing. I'll be waiting at least 10 more years for that in the UK

edit: read a bit more on the site..

Maximum speed for local traffic (upload-100MB, download-100MB)
Maximum speed for overseas traffic (upload 20MB, download 20MB)

Still good, but much less so. 1GB planned Q2 2005

Yes its an ISP just router through a server box, you can use the net for what you want. if its not coming from an ISP where is a 100mbit coming from, space?

There comes a point when you don't need much more speed. I'm at 4mb and that does me just fine. My upload could do with a boost though. :glare:

But as time goes by stuff gets alot larger... High definition is comeing in and movies will soon be alot larger once HD is truly adapted

That's a very good point. We'll all be wanting HD for burning and smaller files just to watch (which we'll be able to download in a manner of minutes).

So, meh, I changed my mind I want my damn 100mb line. :01:

HD over cable is transmitted at 19.2Mbit/s so anything over that and you can stream HD, now the only question is how many computers can deal with decoding that much data...

For 18.12 pounds a month one can get 100mbps!!!! why can't an isp in the uk offer this? why must we be the last to get everything, always?! :(

Well I know that my college is trying to make the wholecity hooked up to a 1000 mbit fiber connection. They are doing ok right now, but my entire network is 1 Gbit Fiber otptics to every room. I just hope that when I mout of college they will have soemthing comparable. I know that the guest wifi for the campus is 4.5 Mbits on the internet (both ways) and that is a guest account on WI FI.
