I need some suggestions on some programs. If possible I need these programs in freeware. Which brand is the best in each category:

Antivirus?
Popup Stopper?
Trojan Scanner?

I'm using AVG which I like but was wondering about suggestions on a different one. And I've used Zero Popup but it weighs down my Internet Explorer too much and also freezes up on me. Also I need a Trojan Scanner that isn't complicated. Just need one that scans for trojans, keyloggers, everything trojan related and removes it. I would really like all these in freeware. I'm so tired of going to stupid crack sites. Thanks for any suggestions. :)

antivirus i like nod32 best...but you do need the crack it. ;)
in service pack 2 (for xp) the internet explorer has a built in popup blocker, but the google\yahoo\msn toolbars all have a built in popupblocker as well.
i use trojanhunter for trojan scanning.

I've been using AVG for about 2 years now, without a single problem getting through. It's even paid for!!! (but not by me :P ). I wouldn't recommend anything else, it just sits there doing it's job, updating itself when necessary, and using almost zero resources. I suggest you stick with it.

For ad/spyware I use ad-aware and spybot and again once installed I haven't had a single problem (spybot recently found a 'trace' of cydoor (a minor registry entry I think) after I tried the supposed "clean" version of exeem, but no actual problems).

a2 is a freeware trojan/dialer/worm/spyware scanner. http://www.emsisoft.com/en/software/free/
Avast 4 Home Edition is a freeware anti-virus program http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html
I use Firefox. The built in popupkiller is awesome (even on "some" sites).

AV: Kaspersky.
Popups: With WinXP SP2 I've set IE6's internal one to block all except those at sites I list (such as filesharingtalk). If you use IE and this feature is available to you, I'd say try that.
Trojan scanner: I've been looking at these the last few days and Trojan Hunter seems to be highly respected, at least by the folks at Spywareinfo.com who host Spybot.
