Problems with Panda

I installed Panda Antivirus Platinum 2005 a couple of days ago because AVG was about as water tight as a sieve!
Problem I have now is my puter takes an age to boot! Is this a common feature of Panda? Are there any tweaks I can apply?
My PC is a bit stone age (AMD 750 Mhz) is it just that it's hogging all the resources?

You may have TO tighten up your other start up program 's. I know with Symantec corp its really quick. But Zonealarm and Giant slow me down . Hey if it's only at start up, go make a cup of java or leave on ! :) Or is it scaning floppies and your c:/ drive when it starts ? Mabye uncheck options in "THE" program . Like scan when windows starts up .
