what one song over all the rest could you not at some point resist singing along to or could not be played in public at an event like new year without most people singing along yet nobody really knows the words
I would say that the ultimate crowed singalong would have to be Come On Eileen ( Dexys Midnight Runners )

Flower of Scotland.
Everyone sings it but barely anyone knows the words beyond the first verse :blushing:

I know all the words though :01:
That's what they make you do when you decide to move to Scotland. You have to sing 'oh flower of Scotland' at the customs

Ape Drape or Oi to the World by the Vandals.
I tend not to mix with crowds who don't know the lyrics to those songs http://www.sighost.us/members/danb/snooty.gif

I hate getting stuck next to loud mouth eejits at gigs, that don't know the words and sing anyways. STFU already, I didn't pay to hear you popping my eardrums with your Scatman John impressions.
If the top's not short enough that it stands up, I could be thrown out of Bad Boy Club. But don't you lay a finger on me ponytail.
Do I get free lunch too? :w00t:

I agree that anyone singing at gigs is asking for a slap.
But i was thinking more of a song that comes on the jukebox in the bar at say 12:30 am new years morning or at a party etc.
Or if it came on the radio in your car and you just HAD to sing along

Well, I must say that this is an excellent selection and I therefore no longer wish Vidcc to be put to an immediate and painful death.
I would add:
"Mony Mony" by Billy Idol
and
"All my Life" by the Foo Fighters---Done, done on to the next one...(at 3:40 in the song you will be shouting this line while air drumming).

Changed my mind, immediately begin the painful death. Space ship 7, send laser now. Just stun him for an hour so he can savor the pain, then turn him to kindling, that is all.
And the rest of you, sleeeeeep, deep sleep.
Nothing to see here.

Add " Proud to be an American" by Lee Greenwood.
Although people may think it was written because of 9/11, the song was written and released in 1985.
I hate country music, but regardless of the bar it is played in, there is never a dry eye, whether black, white, hispanic or asian.
Sure it is a bit of political proganda, but it really draws together all of those who are thankful for what they have in America.
To see a black man cry during this song means a lot to me and how far we have come.

When I was in high school, "Mrs. Jackson" by outkast was popular. If someone screamed "Im sorry Mrs. Jackson" in the hall...everyone within earshot would scream "WOOO! I am for real!!! never meant to make ya daughta cry..." and then the adlibbing would start :P
It was cool at first and then annoying after 2 weeks or so...
