Approx 20 years ago (45 now) I had an accident, I basically crashed straight into a shop window. (Brakes failed on me) I fainted and was rushed to the hospital. When I woke up I failed to know who I was or anyone else for that matter. After a couple of hours I slowly started to get my memory back.

Since then Iv been having sleeping problems, on the best of days I have a maximum sleeping time of 2 hrs or if on a Pills 3-4. But often I can’t get to sleep at all. Physically I’m a sleep but mentally I’m awake. I know what the time is etc.

This affects my mood at the morning I feel really sluggish and lazy. It also most probably affects my BBing.


I’ve gone to the doctors numerous of times, they just tell me that I’m under stress etc.

Nowa days it’s getting worse.

Can anything be done?

I believe there is such a thing as sleep therapy. Essentially re-training the body to sleep.

I don't know much about sleep disorders, but I hope "your doctor" is a neurologist not a general practitioner. Depending on how severely your life is effected by this condition a neurologist could refer you to a sleep specialist.

You can be monitered as you sleep, or attempt to, and they can determine what facet of sleep is disrupted. Basically they can determine if you simply cannot fall asleep or once asleep you do not progress through the 4 phases. Phase 2 is REM sleep (dreaming) and this is key to feeling "rested".

Once they determine where your sleep problem actually is, then they can think about how to treat it.

If push comes to shove, a reliable way to sleep is to listen to a debate between Biggles and Jpol on the pros and cons of caulk. I own the entire DVD collection and I get between 15 and 18 hours sleep a day.

Pleasant dreams.Most of us wouldn't sleep because of the prop blast, but I don't suppose you notice that over your own dull rumble.

Well when u TRY to go to sleep, what do u do B4 hand?

try taking a hot bath and as we all know jumping from the P.C straight to bed just cannot work..well in my own exp anywayz. Another thing is to get at least 20 mins a day of heart punmping exercise which will creep up on u later once u start to tone down.

I tried everything,

Once I was so desperate I stayed awake all night and still managed to only get about 4 hours of sleep.

Its getting worse
