I have downloaded Version 155 (build 222) for the second time & both times it runs for about ten minutes then pc completly shuts off (as if mains plug has been pulled out)
I've run my AV & it hasn't picked up any probs.
What can be causing this?

I'm using Panda Platinum AV & firewall. Don't know weather these are causing problems. How do I copy & paste a list of installed programmes so I can show you exactly what I have got?

may be sp2 limit'd connections?

lvllord.de patch might be worth a shot if you haven't tried it

yeah check your event viewer to see if its limiting the connections

I too have sygate SP2 ss but my brother in law had the same problems he found out the problem form somewhere on the net and it was something to do with sygate SP2 i dunno really

I've noticed that running sp2 + slsk155 + pagefiles turned off gave me probs. (a couple of shutdowns, and very slow speeds with everything, surfing etc., but slsk, no matter if I was downloading or not).

It's a virtual memory thing, it keeps looking for it even tho' the ram should be enough I think. Got the "virtual memory running low"-alert, but was hardly using any ram.

I do run sygate pro as well, and have noticed that sygate doesn't seem to notice when slsk gets shut down, at least not when it crashes.

Turning off slsk speeds everything up at once, so I know it's definitely the culprit, altho' it might be the usage of all three/four together at once that creates some kind of unholy lag just to annoy me.

yup - thats the pain with SS - uses too much memory...its half the reason i rarely use it nowadays...much prefer nice lightweight program than all of the "things i like..." crap :)

in fact, id love to see a SS-lite

It does use a lot more ram than it should need, but it's still no where near using up all my ram, so I reckon that whatever memory-management it has is buggy.

EDit: ffs, it crashed on me again.

I'll give it another go with different setting in windows, and if that doesn't do it I'm no longer using it on xp.
