Btw@zed, I don't think you can make a human body live very long if you cut off the entire head anyway.

The heart and breathing would stop, assuming you didn't plug it up to some kind of defibrilator/respirator combo.

Yes i was just thinking about that - officially that chicken is "clinically dead" - but yet it lives - this is the whole discussion about killing people who are in coma etc

Yep, it is called euthanasia.

But it's not quite the same thing, as it's possible for patients who are considered braindead or in a coma to wake up. Offing them might be like killing someone in their sleep.
