"Error Message
the ASPI interface could not be initialized correctly(error E8H)

No Adapters Found"

I downloaded latested ASPI and installed on the system this is all with EAC and all other rippers say other message like winamp about encoder and decoders how do i fix the ASPI ?????? please help

I think you need to have it enabled in your BIOS before you install Windows...

Nevermind me, Im probably thinking of something else..hehehe.

I"m guessing that Harsh! is thinking of power management :P
with 9x, I don't think you have to install the aspi layer, as it's already there by default.

there's nothing in CMOS/BIOS that affect the Windows ASPI layer :dry:

Try nero's aspi interface,

Download the demo and extract "WNASPI32.DLL" from the installer to the windows/system folder.

Or maybe post in Neowin , I see they have a separate win98 section . Just a thought tho. Win98 seems so far away......... I'v forgot all those problems . :)

Lol well i know its a old system its Second Edition tho if that makes a different i glad i dont have these problems on my xp system

I have tried to fix the aspi layer on several 98 machines and the only real fix seemed to be a fresh install.

Windows....even though I have been able to fix the aspi layer the systems was still very buggy.
