George has been saying for a few years now, that he wont allow anyone
to continue to make Episodes VII, VIII and IX.

and By the way:
Today on 'Acces Hollywood', they reviewed the top ten movies for this summer,
and the No. 1 was obviusly, Episode III and during the interviews with some of the cast, George Lucas was asked about 'what's next' and he sais 'no more movies', and then he said something like this: -we are working on a TV Series, well, 'actually two TV Series'- then he was asked -about Star Wars?-
and he said 'yes'.
I mean, we knew about A Series, but did he really meant 'two'?.

Oooh man, for a fan like me,
Star Wars already feels in the air,
it's so... beautiful... unexplainable. I sudently notice that the Skitles
I bougth today have Episode III propaganda, and it takes me back to when I
was 15, and wanted to get my hands on anything that had Episode I on the package, when I wanted to get home early from my mid-day work cus Acces Hollywood aired something related to Episode I almost every day.
I think of the Episode III premiere, and remember that I begg my father for hours to take me the first day (post premiere) to see Episode I (I think May 20 or 21 of 1999), and he ended up getting tinckets for the 12.30am screening, Damn, I couldn't believe it, he would never go so late to see a movie... I guess he really knew how much I wanted to go.

The Matrix trilogy was awful. The first was excellent, I've seen it prolly ten times. The second one I saw in the theatres and when it was done all I said was, "Well that f*ckin sucked. Let's go." The third one I'm not going to waste my time with.

This new Star Wars stuff is absolute crap. I saw the first one and it was nothing but a pod racers movie with some annoying big earred thing gawking aroung that wouldn't shut up. The second one I never even bothered to see. I know me, and I wouldn't like it. The third has me interested enough to see it since it actually has stuff related to the original series.

as for anaking turning evil, he feels that the whole jedi thing wont let him do what he wants to do, especially obi wan getting in his way. he couldn't save his mother because of him and he feels restricted by him (he's cocky as a mofo). so the dark side thing kinda makes him interested in it that's why he joins up. to become all powerfull and w/e BS u wanna call it.

as for this movie, every trailer and commercial i see, i get more and more pissed, its taking FOREVER to get to thursday :( i can't wait to watch this movie, the reviews say that its the best star wars yet (and i'm the kind that thinks anyone that says anything against the classic 3 SW movies is a witch)

It started just north of 10:30 hours ago, and I was there. :naughty:
I got home at 3 AM and had to get up for school at 7 AM. Regardless, I would have gone to see the movie even if I had my final exam the day afterwards :happy:


I really liked how they "explained" how Palpatine got from looking like he did in EpII and early EpIII, to the Emperor look we know from the OT.
What bugged me was how Master Windu got killed, the fight scene wasn't as impressive as I thought it would be (reminded me of the Vader vs Obi-Wan in EpIV, where the scene had to be slower because "Obi" was too old to jump around that fast), plus he wasn't actually killed like he said he wanted to be; in a lightsaber fight against someone better than himself. SLJ said he was happy about his death scene though...
I was scared about how they made the droids in the start, it would have totally ruined the mood we was prepared for (the darkest of all SW movies). Luckily, the droids didn't come back/act that way towards the end, so it maintained the dark mood.

There was no story and Lucas couldn't go 10 minutes without some random CGI battle on a planet no one has ever seen. I'm extreamly disappointed after Ep II which was far better than EP I. All in all i have to say episode wise this is worse than Ep I. CGI wise its on par with EP II. Its not worth $1 let alone $10.

This is seriously one of the most rubbish comment i've heard. The story in episode 3 was very unique in its own way. What made episode 2 get negative reviews was because 3/4th of the film was plain dialogue until the end, when we see an actual star wars battle/fight go on. Episode 3 fits the perfect definition of 'star wars', because of the action packed "war like" sequences. It made perfect sense in how and why Anakin turned to the dark side.

Also to those comparing the prequels to the original trilogies is like comparing apples and oranges. The technology back then was limited, and the special effects couldn't be done as well as the 3. How else do you think Lucas could create the "beautiful" world of star wars without CGI; use toy models ? or spend billions and billions of dollars creating artifacts? gimme a break. BTW i saw episode 1 and 2 first before seeing the original trilogies, so this probably explains why i thought the first two were "good", as most others claim ts bad. As cpt said, you're entitled to your own opinion and im entitled to mine :ph34r:

By the way i feel ROTS ranks up with Empire strikes back, awesome movie..

Also just watched it and have to disagree. It was nothing on the older 3 films, of which i don't even rate that highly. There was no story and Lucas couldn't go 10 minutes without some random CGI battle on a planet no one has ever seen. I'm extreamly disappointed after Ep II which was far better than EP I. All in all i have to say episode wise this is worse than Ep I. CGI wise its on par with EP II. Its not worth $1 let alone $10.

This is seriously one of the most rubbish comment i've heard. The story in episode 3 was very unique in its own way. What made episode 2 get negative reviews was because 3/4th of the film was plain dialogue until the end, when we see an actual star wars battle/fight go on. Episode 3 fits the perfect definition of 'star wars', because of the action packed "war like" sequences. It made perfect sense in how and why Anakin turned to the dark side.

Also to those comparing the prequels to the original trilogies is like comparing apples and oranges. The technology back then was limited, and the special effects couldn't be done as well as the 3. How else do you think Lucas could create the "beautiful" world of star wars without CGI; use toy models ? or spend billions and billions of dollars creating artifacts? gimme a break. BTW i saw episode 1 and 2 first before seeing the original trilogies, so this probably explains why i thought the first two were "good", as most others claim ts bad. As cpt said, you're entitled to your own opinion and im entitled to mine :ph34r:

I've always told people, what you see first changes your opinion of everything else later.

You think Ep 1 and 2 were good when most of us think they were crap. However, if ep 1 and 2 came out with no previous Star Wars ever being made then sure I'm opinions would differ.

This seems to always happens with sequels, books to movies, and comics to movies.

I personally thought ep 1 and 2 were let downs in comparisons to 4-6 even with the better CGI. It's funny how even now the CGI in 4-6 isn't bad at all. When toy models are used, it actually looks more realistic tbh. CGI tends to look like..well...like CGI. Final Fantasy still just looked like CGI actors and not real ones but humans are harder to recreate.

This is not a spoiler since I haven't seen the movie but can someone (with spoiler tags) that's seen the movie tell me if the Emperor looks fucked because the Dark Side eventually eats away at him? I read this in comic books and found out that he clones himself over and over (using Sparti cylinders) due to the fact that he keeps "dying".

Also has he had 2 of himself in all the current prequels (or been constantly cloning)? The Emperor under the hood looks way more fucked up in comparison to the one in public. In ep 2 he seemed to be in 2 places at one time at the end of the movie (not the time difference was really much longer than the movie had shown). One cut had him talking to Dooku then he was with the Jedi.

To me this film has been the best of the "new" trilogy but maybe a joint third with ROTJ overall (and that is as nice as I'll say about this film).

It would have been interesting to see how the the new trilogy would have panned out with a talented director in control...

I saw it in Edinburgh at 7.30 yesterday. Ewan McGregor's parents gave a little speech before the movie and there were two guys, one dressed as Vader and one dressed as Obi-Wan having a lightsaber duel before the film started :lol:

Anyway, I thought the film was ok, nothing great though. Nothing new or exciting, just average action with wooden acting and some parts of extremely horrible dialogue. I'm damn sure the conversation about how doing politics was a favour to the other Jedi master lasted longer than any of the plot defining conversations of the film.
Also, was I the only who thought it strange that Padme turned from strong political leader of a world to clueless tag a long who didn't notice what she should have seen already in episodes 4, 5 and 6?

obi went down for 2 reasons, 1 he was old and not in his best abilities to fight, you could tell by his lightsaber the force of his power had diminished. 2, he knew that dying an honorable death and showing luke the true jedi ways would provoke his spirit and give him power he had yet to see. as for vader, he didnt disappear true, perhaps because he was dead long ago, mostly machine anyway. but in the end he still joins the good spirits of the force, obi, yoda, and anakin all reunited.

I just saw it.

I liked the movie but felt it was the third best out of the 6 (ESB was my favorite).

The main reason why the movie was great was because of the questions it answered.

Other than that...I wasn't really impressed.

The lightsaber battles sucked except for one's involving Yoda.

They should've used a Chinese choreographer and did more wide angle shots of the fights. Instead the camera is too close most of the time and you don't get the feel of the fights. Think about the last fight in EP1 between Obi-Wan and Darth Maul...that's what I'm talking about.

Anakin just jumping in and killing kids (someone else has already mentioned this) and calling Darth Sidious master was contrived.

Why did Obi-Wan (after seeing the hologram of Anakin's betrayal) call Palpatine, emperor? Is it simply because the Chancellor called the Republic an empire (which is ruled by an emperor) that he chose to call him that? I didn't think Obi heard the news.
Palpatine sure didn't declare himself emperor.

All in all George Lucas fucked up with including the Trade Federation crap (Nute Gunray) (ep1,2,3). a coughing robot with organic innards (Grievous), and other things.

If the layman or a kid was asked to explain the rise of Palpatine to power....well they couldn't...'cause it was stupid. Sepratists, Trade Federation, a vote of no confidence for Chancellor Valorum, wtf?

The highlights of ROS were clearly........Yoda, Darth Sidious, and most of the last 20 minutes.

The fight between Obi and Anakin even sucked (camera work) and the only highlight was when the fight ended (burnt and needing a couple kickstands).

hmm may have to research more then, but it just didnt seem to fit that palp would create something just to let it go knowing that it could destroy him. i mean if windu almost killed him, then anakin would have crushed him. but then again it makes sense in an odd way, how easily anakin took to palp, and his inclination to the dark side from day 1. tainted mc's. luke had to be the chosen one, he ended the remaining sith, 2 in one day, and was the last of the jedi...well unless he has kids...new film franchise? sounds like seed of chucky for some reason :(

By the way, I went to see Rots again, and it's incredible,
what Im trying to say is that, even thought the first time, at the Premiere,
there was a lot of exitement, costumes, and the best fans ever in Tj, and that for the
first time ever I could talk to girls about star wars and they where actually interested,
the second time has turned to be more enjoyable in many ways,
in a moment I even wanted to cry at the Jedi killing... damn, and the kid that almost made it out of the
temple alive, it was one of the deepest scenes of the movie, along with
the younglings at the council chambers:

and the oment when Yoda drops his walking stick cus he feels that
all his Jedi fellows are being killed.
It was beautifull.

Seen the movie, and it rocks. For people tht havn't seen it - you may wanna skip my post.

Palpatine telling Aniken to kill Dokou was a major factor, it showed tht Paplatine had control over him.

I also thought it was a nice touch including Chewbacca in the film, even though he didn't have a great role in it.

And I lov the way Obi beat Aniken, he knew Aniken was stronger than him, but wasn't as wise - so he used his "knowledge of the force" against Aniken and cut off his legs and arm ^_^

I find it ironic that Aniken went to the darkside to save Padame... But she still dies - its like a double loss, and I jst wanna rub it in his face ^_^

I have no idea where GL was going with the whole prophecy thing either. My only answer, if pressed, would be that Anakin did bring a balance to the force in that he made it 2 "force-attuned" people on each side at the end of episode 3.

also the dialogue and the acting sucked balls. samuel jackson couldn't even make the dialogue sound good, and supposedly he is a decent actor.

aside from that and a few other things that sucked a lot of balls, it was still a pretty good movie i guess. at least jar-jar didn't gay everything up like he did in phantom menace.

nah, the pic is not from revenge of the sith. yaddle is a jedi of the same species as yoda, who's listed in the starwars.com "databank." but i can't remember seeing her in a star wars movie. it's just weird that no star wars story has ever explained where yoda comes from, and they make it seem as if he's a one-of-a-kind, but apparently there IS a female yoda. i'm guessing she prolly appeared in the phantom menace, but she's difficult to spot.

OK, so we're still skeptical, but apparently the rumors about a pre-Episode I Star Wars film by Lucas himself somewhat have a leg to stand on. On the heels of the second weekend in theaters for the madly successful Revenge of the Sith comes loose talk from the creator himself about the future of Star Wars.

William Ellis chimes in with the first word on the subject:

Well, it surprises me that TFN and other sites didn't report what Lucas said at the 2nd session at C3. He was asked by a fan "Is there any chance of us ever seeing movies in the Knights of the Old Republic Era?"

His response? "Well, we have a TV series and an animated series and depending how those do, this is something we might someday visit ... but it's too far out to really commit to anything."

I posted on your forums and the official forums and it seemed to be ignored but I heard it, and 3 friends heard it and my wife heard the same thing. I know I wasn't imagining things.

Then Mark confirms the action with this follow-up:

Josh - saw your post on this and though I'd throw my 2 cents in...

Lucas, very quickly and very briefly touched on this in his second
presentation at C3. I think everyone got caught up in the TV news, but he did respond to a question about allowing other directors to make more Star Wars movies and commented that this was under consideration and that this era in particular was one that he had in mind. Nothing set in stone, but he did make it sound as if it were more possible than not.

Former TFN Staffer Chris also heard this quote and makes an observation about it as well:

Lisa and I were in the second session too. So was a friend of mine from Texas and she heard the same thing about an "old Old Republic" project being a possibility. But I wouldn't read too much into it: it seemed more like an idle thought that he was just bandying about after the questioner posed it to him.

Interesting. Again, don't celebrate just yet ... but anything is possible, which is more than we could say a week ago. Stay tuned.

saw about that pre-movie on another site. i cant really say it'd be significant to fans, unless of course he went into great detail about the sith or something, until now we've only seen 5, all died over the course of films. darth maul, count dooku, general greivous(if he really counts), darth sidious, darth vader. making new hero's would just defeat the purpose, and i dont wanna see what kid plays obi wan, if he's as annoying as anakin, i'd lose all hope.

the top 100 only counts votes from "regular voters." those ratings are different from the scores they have listed on the individual movie pages. of course everyone's going to vote kubrick, scorsese, the godfather, star wars, lord of the rings, etc into the top 100. no amount of trollage can stop that.

but i will say it again. dude, the imdb user ratings are all upside down anyway. The Matrix Reloaded (7.1) and Stephen King's The Stand (7.2) have higher scores than TRON (6.4) and Thrashin' (5.1), and nearly the same as Toto le Héros (7.3) and Werner Herzog's Nosferatu (7.2). the ratings on imdb are totally messed up. :P

I've just downloaded and watched the Star Wars Episode III Revenge of the Sith INTERNAL DVDRip XviD release and its great quality for a movie thats only been in the cinemas for 3 weeks.
The source is definatley digital but the audio seems a bit crappy for a DVD (ie not 5:1). Maybe the source is some sort of pre retail release without mastered audio. Or prehaps a professional TC machine?

Anyways, I loved this movie. Alright the actors may have been a bit wooden and the dialogue filmsy but the plot and the action sequences were fantastic.
I went to the cinema twice with my two kids (boy 9 and girl 8) to see this and we all enjoyed it.

Although on hindsight I should have watched it first, the scene where anaikin gets burnt is pretty graphic but my kids did'nt seem too phased by this.
