i just dl a music video of da net but when i play it it won't let me fast forward the vid to the middle, it just goge back to the begining

its a Windows Media Audio/Video file and im using media player 10. ive tryed winamp but when i move the bar at the progress to the middle of the file it just frezes

VLC media player plays it just fine

VLC codecs are built in wheras the others rely on what codecs have been installed so you may be missing something...
