was a long time member of the original KLyte BB. Have remained with KLyte 2.43 and used the fixer to connect to files to finish (great way or at least was a great way to always connect). For some reason my old name, password no longer work.

OK, I like porn and dl tons of it. Starting last friday it seems a huge server has flooded Kazaa with Scallyboys, football, etc., files at dl's of 3900 and its now virtually impossible to find files or dl files. The use of filters doesn't really help. Any search in this area brings up 10, 20,000 files all named the above. For sure, all fakes. Has MVAA finally found a way to disable Kazaa?Appreciate any suggestions how to ovwercome this problem.

Yes Kazaas dead. Or should I say, obselete. At the very least all the old(non-leech) Kazaa users should move onto Ares (http://www.aresgalaxy.org/).

Kazaa might be dying fast,
what's more, I don't even use it anymore,
but it brings feelings to me...
it was the software that introduced me to the beautiful p2p world,
and I still can remember that it felt like my greatest achivement in my computer career, sudently I was downloading any song I wanted, it was the best...
but of course at the moment I didn't understan that it was what made my PC so slow, I didn't even knew what the word spyware meant, still those where beautiful times, times of inossence, at least in some ways.
I guess it was doomed along with its spyware and adware.
-good bye kazaa, and thank you-. ...lol.

btw, I now use mostly Bittorent, and also ARES.

I don't think it's anywhere near as useful as it used to be. You'd be much better off getting your porn from another filesharing client, like bittorrent. Not to mention that kazaa had all kinds of kiddie porn on there. You have to be real careful what you download with it.

thewizeard

...on every file-sharing network where vidoes and films are shared, one will find porn....( if you look, that is  )

Over statement of the year, compared with other programs Kazaa is the scum of P2P, its good for the odd thing but not worth the install just to find maybe one song at some shitty bandwidth.

Kazaa is full of trojans and is the home of the anti-P2P lobby. Just look at how many of the people that have been sued for downloading an MP3 were using Kazaa. It was good after the demise of Napster but it's no longer worth the trouble.

Kazaa is stil around because everyone goes through stages in thier life of digital piracy.

Kazaa is the light stuff. Very easy to use, well know. It's the program the kids all start with. Some never move on to higher forms of piracy.

The second stage is a program like emule. A little harder to use, slightly better content. People will general move to this stage after they get tired of the spoofing and viruses that infest the first level.

The third level is BitTorrent or IRC. With these forms of piracy viruses and fakes are very low. The draw backs being that BitTorrent is the most dangerous protocal for file trading out there. All that needs to happen is 'The Powers That Be' join a swarm and they can get the information of everyone in the swarm regaurdless if they connect to them directly or not. Also download speed is limited by upload speed and the number of people in that swarm.
I never got too involved with IRC, but from the little I did use it content was limited and dealing with bots can be a pain in the ass.

The next two levels involve money and many users refuse to pay-to-play.
There's Usenet, a pre-internet system that has become much easier to use recently with nzb files. Benifites include full contection speed on all downloads, good content, little or no fakes, no uploading (sharing) on the part of the typical user.

The last and higest level is the 'Topsites'
Not many users will get to this level. They are secerative and hard to get involved with. This is where all the stuff really comes from. You need to know the right people, have the ability to provide money, content, or skills. Plus the ability to kiss ass. It's basically a collection of FTP sites.

Kazaa serves as a gateway to bigger and better things

kazaa is great for battling the **AA

how to play:
run K++
run PG2
force "become supernode"
dont share any files (you're a supernode and the network needs your bandwidth)

if more people did this, there would be more supernodes not 0wned by the **AA running the network

instead of bitching about the network, do something about it :p

Kazaa will never die. It's too damn easy to use. A lot of people still use kazaa because they say bittorrent it too difficult to use (ha!ha!ha!....dumbasses!). Instead of KaZaA I use K-Lite Resurrection. It works perfectly with no spyware. The original kazaa sucks donkey dick! Nobody should use it! As long as they don't bring back WinMX I'm satisfied. That shit was horrible! People wouldn't share their files! I'm glad it's gone! I do miss Audiogalaxy and Aimster though.

Im not sure if gnutella or torrents have more files than fasttrack, i really doubt that some torrent files even start that are to be found. Not that im into any of the programs but torrents really arn't any better unless you make your homework. If torrents were soo good i would probably use it more than 2 times on few months, not that im not a member of good sites and didn't do my homework :D, it just sucks. If i used just kazaa it would suck, if i used just torrents it would suck as limewire sucks. I don't know why you ain't using a program that connects to all 3 networks. That would solve the neverendng talk about what is better.

Not alot :dabs:

There are many p2p programs that are just as 'user friendly' as kazaa was. KCeasy and Shareaza to name but two.

The benefit of these over Kazaa is that they actually work :smilie4:

Kazaa accounts for less than 30% of all p2p sharing now, according to Slyck's stats, and that doesn't even include Bittorrent or newsgroups, which account for the vast majority of filesharing.

I too disliked Kazaa from the get-go, but I cannot help but laugh at some of these posts since I recall the "good old days" when everyone was praising Kazaa and its "bounty" (lololol)--while using KMD, not KLite. Oh, how hip trends change!

I used Morpheus before then and liked it, but for a while it was "merged" with Sharman Networks (in 2002?). As a n00b, I resorted to KMD for a while afterwards. I hated it; it was all advertisement, in all senses of the word. Everything was either fake, low-quality, or "More Connections Needed." Full games? Applications? Albums? Ebooks? Fuhggitaboutit! There were many threads and chats about how awesome this apparent replacement for Napster was. Whenever I responded my experiences or talked about the network's true lack of quality, I was immediately "corrected." I eventually used Kazaa Lite and liked it, but it could not hide the network's essential faults.

Out of all the networks out there, I have to say Kazaa is definitely the worst I have ever used. Everything else has allowed me to get and share quality multimedia, but not good-ol' Kazaa (and heaven forbid the verb "share" on Kazaa). Even as a dedicated torrent user who did not do some of the "homework" on time, I still enjoy my filesharing experience far more with Kazaa kept away from my desktop.

This has been yet another post that has technically contributed nothing to the forum.

I was surprised to see the Kazaa section up as well after having not logged in a few years.

I used morpheus then went to KMD for about a month. After I finally got all the viruses and spyware off my system I went straight to irc. Ut;s funy though, even after abandoning it I was a mod for a site that offered verified hashes for it, for about a year I think. We were just about to switch primarily to bittorent when Microsoft and other corporations sicced the law on us. Went to ftp for a while, then dc++, then xdcc catcher. Yes Kazaas dead. Or should I say, obselete. At the very least all the old(non-leech) Kazaa users should move onto Ares (http://www.aresgalaxy.org/).

Sorry, I missed that :)

Yes you read correctly in only two days time the new Klite 2.5++ will be made available to a few trusted members of this forum for Betá testing.

If you too would like to help the development team, by downloading Klite 2.5++ and testing it, by making and also downloading a few small test torrents, also it's current connect-ability to the new FileSharingTalk filesharing network ( http://filesharingtalk.com/vb3/everything-related-board/t-filesharingtalkcom-slavanap-server-163745); ....the latest new Klite 2.5++ with BitTorrent client, tracker and chat channel plug-in? Then please write here in this thread the specifications of your computer; OS type RAM, connection speed, that sort of thing and..MOTIVATION!

You will receive notice of your application, here in this thread , and if chosen receive a personal code for the download, by PM.

I agree kazaa is shit, but i still use it from time to time to find songs that i dont know the name of, like just type in what you think the name is, and it will bring up the name, and then you can go get it elsewhere.

Once for the Zombie Nation song i typed in "oooo oo" and got it!!

Everyone says Kazaa is dead etc etc but it never happens.

I've noticed the number of users has recovered to about 250000 from 70000 6 months ago, where admitedly all seemed lost.

Not back to its hey day, but it will get there! Have faith!

they would never die. No such strict rules, no banning of ip, no ratio requirements and it still has some pretty good stuff.
most of the music vids I get from limewire. I dont much care about 0day stuff but all the old and rare stuff are keeping p2p alive.

I totally agree with you. The old and rare stuff is the one that's keep p2p alive.

The latest technology now is TV online and most of them are using p2p technology. I think they will be a newer p2p technology in the future.

P2P will stay forever, like PC's when it's was invented by IBM :)

if you are looking for porn only
rapidshare premium account will help you a lot.
also Bittorrent+Empornium or PussyTorrents is a great thing :)
