There have been many rumors flying around that the MPAA is some how involved with the recent problems with Torrentspy. This is most definately NOT the case with the downtime.

A vital server used to run Torrentspy suffered a hardware failure. We called our ISP/Datacenter to get a new server up a running which opened a trouble ticket. They said the new server would be ready no later then 72 hours after the ticket was opened. It's been 84 hours since we opened the trouble ticket and we have still not received confirmation of our new server.

This is totally unacceptable so we went ahead and called up another ISP/Datacenter today to order a bunch more servers to be used as a backup host. They said these new servers will be ready within 24 hours.

So either way, we're coming back online within 24 hours.

It's also going to be costing us 1000$ + a month just to have a backup plan in case this happens to us in the future. You won't see us begging for your donations either. This is all to make sure this never happens again.
