I got braces fitted yesterday and I'll tell you something...

...they fucking hurt!

I can't chew or bite because the brace is all pully and making my teeth ache. They had to give me wax to cover up all the jaggedy bit that are sharp and jaggy and that's stupid because it surely can't be so hard to make braces that don't tear your gums and cheeks to ribbons.

I got an ouchy booboo! :(

I had to wear them for quite a while myself :(

Just wait until the metal comes out at the back and sticks in your cheek, now that hurts

Mine used to come out of the bit stuck on my last molar and it would take ages to get an appointment with the Orthodontist to sort it out :crying:

I'm not worrying about the way they look, I think they're cute but I wish they didn't hurt so damn much. (I've got greeeeeen ones!!)

they dont hurt after a week or 2

And then I'll have but a few days of blessed relief before they're tightened.

i was given wax but they never told me what it was for, now the inside of my mouth is all scarred

my advice: be abusive to your orthodentist while you can, you won't see them again after your treatment is done, and you'll regret not making them feel as miserable as you

That's interesting, I was under the impression it’s best not to get on the bad side of the person who is poking around your mouth with sharp metal objects.

i don't think orthodontists can suffer enough, i probably would have gone to the wake with a pair of pliers and pulled a few teeth

Your dentist/whoever will tighten them every month or add more wires and springs so every 4 weeks you get another week or two of pain. Each time he add's/tightens it's like they have been taken off and put on again.

All i can say is you'll get use to it.
