more important question:
does it actually finish booting and load windows, or just restart again?

if you're like me, the most efficient way to ease the worry of boot times, is to only reboot about every 2 weeks or so :P
Bah ive tried like pretty much all that stuff besides the NOGUI thing.

Try getting rid of unused fonts? (C:\Windows\Fonts)
Those all have to be loaded at startup....
if you have more than a 1000 then that will mess up your startup times

You should be more specific. Where excatly does it hang? The "Windows XP" with scrolling green bar screen? The blue "Welcome" screen? Desktop?
