Hi!

Il live in a contryside of france, so I don't have a marvelous internet conection, Where my house is situated, I can only get 256 kb upload bands for 30$/month, which is not enought to use bittorent, I've heard about hacked versions of azureus , I would like to share more, but it's technicaly impossible to me.

Someone knows about that?

We dont encourage any leech type clients on the boards.
I would suggest just setting at 16K or less for upload...

aren't my downloads gonna be slower, as the download rate is based on the upload rate?
I was uploading at about 25-30 until know.

I think azureus only limits your download if you set the upload very low, e.g. < 5k (but the tracker may limit your download speed)
As long as your download speed is 1Mb or less, you should still be able to max out your download with a 256Kb upload speed.

I would recommend that you leave your torrents seeding for longer, and try newsgroups or mirc to utilise your download bandwidth

Actually I sholdve said 25K limit on a 256k line and with that I doubt youde even need a leech client at all as I had the same ul rate for a long time untill just recently and never had an issue at all. Its clear that clients like this could easily ruin the whole idea and may even lead to AZ being banned altogether on some trackers perhaps...

Ive also removed some of the post above for reasons already stated, pm me if need be.

256k up? that should be fine for Bit Torrent. I have 384k up, and it works okay.

I have 384k up as well. Can't wait 'till they deploy FiOS in my neighborhood. 2Mb upload baby.

I only have a 192kb/up which means I can upload at a max of +/- 20kb which is more than most people can.
So I don't see how a 256kb connection should be a problem.
Just don't use emule I'd say :P

Nothing wrong with the mule....
Just the person operating it...

C'mon, you can't deny that eMule is slow as hell.

Not for me it isnt...
An average day for me is a GB up\down, some people avaerage only 300MB..
if youve got a decent connection open up your "connections" to 25000, then you see the mule fly!!!

I upload at a constant 42-44KBs. My share ratio is 12:1. But I can never go above 20KBs dows. Average is like 5KBs. Just horrible... but I put up with it. ED2K files are of the highest quality.

I too upload(120k+) a lot more than I download (90-100K+\-) on overall speed...
Got to agree here:

ED2K files are of the highest quality.
