??? do you want to open the rar file or just burn it as it is ?
you need winrar to open it.
if you want to burn it just drag and drop it.Or open file.

if you wnat to burn the contence of the .rar file then use winrar (http://www.rarlab.com)

extract it to a folder then burn it.

What Wizzanbe said. Usually rar files will extract what would normally be on the cd, like all the setup files and cabs or whatever is on there. There's nothing special to burning it ebcause it's just normal data.

hmm, nvm i asked the wrong ques, how do i extract a rar. file to where it needs to be by using winRAR? :blink:

if you've installed winrar the just open the rar file and there should be an extract button somewhere, then tell it where you want it to extract to, and if its an iso. open nero then file burn image, and go to the folder where you extracted it, and there you go.
not to sure bout winrar, i got winace.

I have already installed the game, do i have to burn the game again and extract the rar. file to the burn selection before i burn? <_< What im asking is what i have to extract the file to, do i just send it to the general game folder that i already have(assuming it will override the proper files, or burn a complete new cd?

I&#39;m still not sure what you mean Timz. If you have lets say, a no-cd crack in a rar file you can do two things with it. Extract it to some arbitrary folder you created, and copy and paste the necessary files into the folder of your game. I&#39;m thinking you have some file similar to this.

What i say is, extract to some folder, then paste all the files you need into the directory. If this isn&#39;t what your asking try to rephrase it again.

hmm, yeah, thats what im saying ;) , but how would i know which files belong in which folder after i extract to an arbitrary folder. :huh:

This is what the instructions for the game says in teh Nfo. file, i dont understand what it is talking about. The instructions makes it seem like i have to have the crack burned onto a cd, that was where my earlier confusion came from. Also, it says to copy the crack to the installation directory, but where is that exactly? <_<

Is there information in the Nfo. file that came with the game that i overlooked?

To me the "installation directory" sounds like the file that opened the game to, in my case it is C:&#092;Program Files&#092;Games&#092;American Conquest Full

Am i supposed to copy and past the entire crack to this folder and it will jsut create its own folder or send files to the proper locations?

go to C:&#092;Program Files&#092;Games&#092;American Conquest Full direcrory on your hdd and have a look in there and see if there is a .exe it will no doubt look like a specialised icon if this is where you extracted the .bin and .cue and thats all you have in that directory then you will need to install the game first, just get yourself a copy of daemon tools or alcohol 120%, these will make a virtual cd drive on your PC, mount the .bin onto the virtual drive and it should autorun, just click install and it will install the game for you.

ok once thats done, go to the directory the game "installed" to and have a look in that dir for the afore mentioned .exe, if you see one great, if not just go into some folder untill you find it, once found just got to the virtual drive that one of the above programs created, lets say drive F: click on this drive so you are browsing the cd now, there should be a folder called "crack" on the cd, double click on this folder and inside should be a .exe similar to the one in the installed game directory, right click on this and selct copy, now go to the dir the game installed and where the original .exe is, then right click and select paste, a box should pop up saying there is a file of the same name that already exists, do you want to replace the existing file, just select yes, then run the game with the cd still mounted on your virtual drive and it should play no problem, but you need the cd image on the virtual drive though or it will stay say inser cd.

I already burned the game and installed the game, do i still have to use the virtual cd thing?

And the crack did not come with the game, i had to d/l it separately, it is a rar file, not .exe

Ok so the game is installed and you burned the ISO you downloaded from where ever and installed the game from it correct? And that works fine.

Then you wanted to use a no-cd crack, or some for a crack that you downloaded as a rar file. I&#39;m assuming you have winrar, (visit http://www.winrar.com if you need a copy), and are wondering what to do.

Inside the rar there is probably a txt file or an NFO along with an .exe file that is renamed the same file as the exe of the real game. Extract this into a directory you make yourself, call it C:&#092;crack. Once you do this go to your directory C:&#092;Program Files&#092;(Whatever the game is called). In there you should see the real executable file and rename it REALconquest.exe and then copy and paste in the cracked exe from the folder you extracted it to. Then run that exe and it should work. I think thats what you mean.

Yeah, thats exactly what im saying &#33; :) But when i copied and pasted the crack to the game file it replace the file, but when i replaced the file and tried to run the game, all these error msgs popped up, i couldnt play. Am i supposed to NOT replace the original file and just keep it there, or am i supposed to override it? :blink:

BTW i really appreciate this, i would probably never get th game running without help, thx :D

ok you have to replace the original .exe with the cracked one, but it sounds to me as if you have a dodgy crack, you did run a virus check on it first as these types of files are nearly always riddled with viruses even off crack sites. go to www.megagames.com go to the trainer menu on the left put the name of the game in and get the crack for your version of the game from there.

if the crack you have got somes up with having a virus then make sure you run a full virus scan to get rid of any damage it done.

basicaly a one with a virus or a trojan in, or a one that just doesnt work with the copy of the game you got, i would never download a nocd crack of kazaa or any dodgy ware* sites, always got to megagames or gamescopyworld.com if they havnt got a good one then no one will have.

Hmm, i d/led the no-cd crack for my game off of megagames.com and i extracted it to my game dir, it asked me if i wanted to replace stuff, i selected "yes to all" But when i tried to run the game, i got the same error msgs, what am i doing wrong?&#33; :blink: :angry: :P :D ;) :huh:

I got another game to work using the same method so i think the problem is specific for this one game <_<
