It seems to be better than 155 at memory management.
None of that awful lag I had with 155 when I was surfing with it running in the background.

i always get that too, snny.
actually what happens is when i have 15x open whilst surfing, eventually slsk somehow messes up the connection, so that i get "page not found" error when trying to find a site that i "know" is up, such as yahoo.com then when i reboot and restart my internet connection everything is fine, and the process starts over again. very frustrating.
156 sorted that for me :D
Now I sometimes have probs browsing some ppl, but that's a minor thing, as long as I can use other software at the same time.
I dunno' if it was the connection it was messing with at all, I think it was a memory-leak.
It just kept eating more and more of my mem if I left it on, until all kinds of things stopped working.
Nice to see you posting, btw.

yeah, i can't post much anymore because my internet connection/home situation changed, but i've been on for 8 hours straight now, so i'm catching up.
it was definitely the connection in my case, as i noticed those problems disappeared completely without soulseek.
i see that the b|tch is still here, so unfortunately this reapperance will be temporary, but as i said, my situation would not let me be on constantly anyway, even if i wanted to.
Check your task manager after running slsk for a little, then keep checking it sometime.
I think it was using 750megs with 155 once before I shut it down. When I stopped it dropped some, and I could surf again. Me, I think it's all down to a memory leak somehow, but I guess it may be fuxcoring with the connection at the same time.
If it crashes on you, it keeps the memory it was using locked up sometimes, and then if you restart it without a reboot, it starts using more ram, like it's running double.
And even if it crashed sygate still registered it as running.
She ain't really here.

its the super node bullshit soul seek goes on with is why you get that page not found its uses up yoru entire badnwith actually only way to fix it is to change user names....
also yeah 156 is worse I thought 155 was a memory leak this one just freezes so bad in memory 95% of ppl have the same problem

1. i never knew slsk used supernodes.
2. nice to see you, ad.
3. i do remember a conversation on the slsk board wherein zannycrunch mentioned something about "bandwidth overhead" when you log on, but i didn't bookmark it.

Is the server don atm?
I can't get myself connected :(
Where's that link where I can check the status of the server?
It's slower connecting it seems, with the new client, but I don't think it's down. I can see other people online anyway.
Not to mention the fact that I'm connected myself.

I did a clean install and it still doesn't connect.
it's configured as it should be,server status is ok,friend of mine can connect without a problem...So what's stopping me from connecting?!

Was wondering why they did that and are they ever supposed to merge.
Now that Im thinking of it what does the pinned topic tell them to get...
EDIT: Was just pointing to the dl page ffs.
Changed it to go directly to 156 now.
