Help, weird internet problem.

Hi,
My Girlfriend just got a new computer. She installd Windows XP, she gets an Internet connection, you can ping web sites, but her browsers won't connect, neither Firefox, nor Mozilla, or IE. They all time out. She drives me crazy, and I have no idea what's wrong. Please can someone help me keep my sanity and someone to help me with her problem??

Its probaly just a setting. Have you tryed the internet set up wizard ? Thing I always loved about xp was the instant connection. Mabay a call to your ISP would help aswell. :)

sounds like a firewall setting is blocking all traffic to the internet , check the xp firewall if service pack 2 is on the pc and then check those settings
