Okay, so Mum came over for lunch at my house today.

She saw my PC was running, so she had a nosey at what it was doing.
eMule just happened to be completing a download, and she said
"What's this?"

Now, my Mum (bless her) is what I call a reluctant PC user.
She uses computers at her job - email, data entry... just basic stuff, and she leaves the rest up to the techs.

Therefore, I have to keep explanations of computer-y stuff short n' simple when talking to Mum... otherwise she simply doesn't want to know.

So I just told her it was eMule, which is sort of like Kazaa, and it was sharing files.
Mum's eyes lit up and she said
"Kazaa? isn't that the program I saw on the news that can get music for free?"
I said it was.
She asked if my 'Mule could do it too. I said yeah, it was the same basic principle...

Then she asked if I could do her a favour. As it's Mum, I said I'd try.

So now I'm stuck with downloading... *shudder*

The best of the Bee Gees. :frusty:

Illuminati - Line Dancing? Man, that's gotta hurt. Suddenly the Bee Gees don't seem so bad.
Hang on. Yes it does. :ermm:

Okay, those are what Mum would call "nice boys".

I recognize Robin, Barry and Maurice, but I've never seen those 2 other guys before. Not that I really want to know who they are... but the guy on the left looks like one of the hobbits out of the LOTR movies.

That's all I know, and yeah, you're right - it's too much.

Anyway, I blame my knowledge on Mum being a Bee Gees fan while I was a kid.
Some facts are bound to rub off on impressionable young minds. :(

bujub - Cher? *BIG shudder*

Oh no... I just realized something. This could be a dangerous precedent.
Mum used to like Bread (the band, not the food) too.

Maybe it would be best if I let this download "fail". :shifty:

Am I really the kind of person to engage in the music equivalent of penis envy? Honestly.

I honestly don't know how much of each of the discs he's filled - He has a list of which album is on which CD. I just know I had to lug a 400-CD case between homes when my mum wanted some Line Dance Fever on her new MP3 player.

It could have been closer to 300 but I'm not sure - I stopped checking the IDs after that. But I think he just gets whatever he can with mates at work - Doubt he's personally listened to more than a handful of them albums. Eight years of collecting that crap does mount up.

We both leave each others' stuff alone unless one of us has something the other can't - Him usually asking me about software and that.

 No chance of that... like I said, she's a reluctant user.
She normally just looks at the monitor, and if it isn't Excel or an email client, she just glares at it then walks away.

Unfortunately, eMule was finalizing a download when she looked at my PC today, so it caught her interest, thus leaving me with the request for the testicle-less trio in my download queue.
