just found this
looks like a llight version of photoshop

http://www.eecs.wsu.edu/paint.net/

* Magic wand is back and it works great
* Paint bucket now fills with brush patterns
* Much higher quality rendering when zoomed-out
* Background layer is no longer "locked"
* Selections work better now, especially when zoomed in
* Many bug fixes
* Faster startup performance

Requires Microsoft's .NET framework (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=262d25e3-f589-4842-8157-034d1e7cf3a3&displaylang=en) to run.

It's not too bad, but I still prefer Photoshop, personally.

I agree, but when im online and need to do some quick editing -phtoshop & firefox really hate each other -ram wise
will try this as an alternative when doing quickies.

edit. aww fek it this prog also has the same conflict with firefox.
when you switch between the 2 it goes really slow

yeah FF can be a RAM pig, especially if it's been running for a long time.
Until Mozilla sort it out, running any gfx prog is gonna be a hassle.

Yeah, but any decent gfx app will always contain plenty of documentation.
It's a good thing, imho.

just out of curiousity, have you tried the Gimp (http://gimp-win.sourceforge.net/) yet?
