i think winamp "out of the box" supports ape

There's an updated MACDll.dll here:
http://www.monkeysaudio.com/files/MACDll_399t2.zip
Extract from zip. Rename to in_ape.dll and place into <Your Winamp Folder>\Plugins
Now you're able to play APE files and by the way with Media Library support

K-Lite Codec Pack also supports Monkey's Audio (.ape)

if ur using winamp to play music, dun expect this codec pack to help u
winamp uses its own sets of codecs to play music files
if u wanna listen to ape files on winamp, follow Vargas' advice
