Yes, you use knoppix. Download knoppix and burn it to a cd. Then google this term "sam cracking". Look at the webpage that is hosted on g4tv.com. It should bring up the "dark tips".

This way you can find out and in turn bypass the os password/reset it (forgot which) in case your have forgotten yours.
