i noticed FF can be retarded with RAM
u open like 6 diff pages it takes about 40MB
u close all the pages but one it still takes 40MB

so i decided to use Opera (very recently)

Trivia: the technology behind the Giant brand has been proprietary of SunbeltSoftware all along. All three products (MS, Giant, Counterspy) share the same engine and .dll resources.

That is about where I normally would see it myself. Sometimes not quite so high. Did you have it set at a specific time to gather updates or scan your system? Heck... you may even see a jump in useage when new/foreign processes are introduced into your system from the looks of things. Just guessing really though.

nah, i dont let apps auto-update, too paranoid  :P
and dont think i added any new processes
blah, maybe its just a spike in resource usage, as it seems to have settled at about 20MB

or....heres a thought....maybe it ran up on usage..because...it was working!

hehehe, dont pay any attention to that last comment,
thats just me being me, i like to take shots at M$
even though i use their OS, office, anti-spy, etc....

ok, i'll hush now i think....ooh look! a pink elephant!
*runs out the back while everyone looks*

I am just as guilty when it comes to taking shots at the almighty M$ empire. I pretty much utilize the same products. And like alot of other people, am happy when they work as they are supposed to... and not so happy when they do not. :D

I chucked out approximately a cool grand for my PC setup... I'll be god-damned if I don't expect everything to run "up-to-snuff". And if I see something not in the "norm", I am going to hit the panic button, pounding on this !@$#? keyboard, crying like alittle girl, until it's all better again.
