As an artist, the only bloody time you get appreciation for your work is during the building up of the show and the opening + press+audience feedback.
(although appreciation could backfire drastically..., but in my case i Always get in conflict with the gallery owners, exhibition, museum curators etc during the build up cause of my "do it my way" (also known as unproffesional) & i dont deliver what i promise (its always better).
The rest of the time its just toi.
So there you are working on your new work for the next show with the usual people and the phone goes.
Expecting your landlord, telemarketter, bills office, hell
it turns out to be a mega 10 x 10 meter permanent commision - and its international.
Makes it all worth it.

Of course for you people who have own companies(or pizza parlors) -people calling you for what you produce is daily routine.
Thats why artists are so bad at bznezz

Sounds like you are getting recognition for your work that might actually pay financially as well as artistically. Nice one :)

Thanx for the congrats, flattery is a good thing, the rest of time its just daily life and your conciouns

@Manker "great timing" - there is never better timing when it comes to a call out of nowhere and new art prospects and money input

@McShishpants "Good news" - undoubtably for my Girlfriend, my gallerist (to up his ego too) and possible future assignments - since these people (very big) called me outside of my gallery and they are internationally very well connected.

@Sara "as well as artistically" - instead of the usual banter of don't make it too big and it has to hang on the "black hole" known as the "wall", these people wanted something "spatial" - this means installation, freedom and as for spatial thats what i do.

@Shanonogi - this is my job http://www.filesharingtalk.com/vb3/images/smilies/biggrin.gif
