I've tried creating themes before, but there's not very good documentation on the process as a whole, you kinda have to piece it together, and it's all pretty convoluted.

Well, Kind of but I mean how do you install it? Do you just move the .jar file to the firefox
folder. do you extract the contents of the .jar to the firefox folder or what? What do you do with the .jar file.

Back in the beta days, I created and used a local theme installer web page, but there's a easier way now.

Start by opening the Firefox Themes window. Tools menu -> Themes.
Using Windows Explorer, navigate to the directory where you have the theme's .JAR file.
Drag and drop the .JAR from Explorer onto the left pane of the Themes window.
Firefox will ask for install confirmation. Click yes, and there you go.

The same method works for the Extensions window too, which can be a huge time saver if you use a bunch of 'em.
