Ok, got my slim ps2, opened it up and tape mod it. Now, I have 3 questions

1. If I have a DVD playing, opened up the cover, but the DVD keeps spinning until i press reset, does this mean I have done it correctly?

2. If so, how do I switch games? Turn off PS2, Insert Swapmagic, insert backup?

would i have to do the same process for retail games? Turn off PS2/ insert retail game, turn on.

3. Even though the disc is still spinning when I opened the cover, it does not play too well, it skips around until I close the cover, is this normal or did I screw up somewhere?

P.S. My swapmagic havent came yet so I can't test my backups, which is why I'm asking

1. Yes

2. Yes, turn off then switch and turn back on.

3. That happeneds to me.

Everything looks fine for you. Just dont try to put in a game when its spinning. Almost lost me Socom 2 disc during that :(

heh, yea. I tried to take a disc out while it was spinning because the disc slow down when you open the cover. The noise it made scared the hell outa me.

But good to hear that I didnt screw up anything...the Warranty stick is still intact. Its very hard to notice the crease it made. If anything should go wrong, I got the EB PRP!

And I'm hoping the eletrical tapes hold...I dont think I can handle opening up my ps2 again :(

P.S. the only thing i hate about this slim ps2 is that I can't turn it off....What's the point of standby anyhow

hold the button down to turn it off.

that only puts it on standby. I held the thing down for like 15 seconds and the red light was still on

Yea its suppose to stay red, its off tho. Thats why the game stop. You can unplug it, but you probly only saving 5volts a day by doing that.

another question.

Is it possible to switch DVDs movie without turning off the power?

Manual says to press stop and open the cover to take out the disc...well, I pressed stop, open the cover, disc was still spinning.

Is that suppose to happen?

Is this when you try to swap using the SM? If so, its suppose to stop when the menu screen comes up, then you swap. If your just watching a movie, and when you done you turn it off, and take it out, but it still spinning. That could be becuse its not done winding down, or you just hit reset.

Watching DVDs.

I thought that when you press stop, the ps2 will stop reading the disc so it will stop spinning. Apparently, this is not the case as I had someone test it out on their ps2.
