Chelsea continue there trip in europes biggest prize against the german champions. Good news for Chelsea is that star striker Roy Makaay is unfit to plau for BM. Apart from Ballack and Roy Makaay BM have no decent strikers and a midfielder has been drafted in to play as a lone striker.

Teams line up like this:

Chelsea are expected play in a 4-3-3 formation as follows:

1 Petr Cech

2 Glen Johnson

6 Ricardo Carvalho

26 John Terry (c)

13 William Gallas

4 Claude Makelele

8 Frank Lampard

22 Eidur Gudjohnsen

10 Joe Cole

15 Didier Drogba

11 Damien Duff

Substitutes: 23 Carlo Cudicini, 29 Robert Huth, 14 Gérémi, 33 Nuno Morais, 5 Alexey Smertin, 30 Tiago, 24 Mikael Forssell.

Bayern are expected to line-up in a 4-4-2 formation as follows:

Kahn; Sagnol, Lucio, Kovac, Lizarazu; Hargreaves, Frings, Ballack, Zé Roberto; Salihamidzic, Guerrero.

Subs: Rensing, Hashemian, Jeremies, Deisler, Linke, Scholl, Schweinsteiger.

The referee is René Temmink of The Netherlands.

If you don't have Sky Sports 1 its on Test Sports, kick off in a minute or so.

Did anyone notice how big the ref was, he was about six inches taller than John Terry. Initially I thought Damien Duff had a midget twin.

Umm .. yeah, Chelski played well but I'm glad Bayern got one at the end to make the second leg interesting.

Deutchland Deutchland uber alles ... . :D

2-0

Is what BM need to get in the second leg.

I can see them scoring two if MaKaay is back. Three, possibly, if they spawn another dodgy penalty like that one.

Can't see them keeping Chelsea out for the whole game tho' - it'll be a draw, I reckon.

Michael Ballack is a proper c*nt, a right dirty diving bastard

Yup, UEFA should ban him and stop fucking about with Jose

I thought Mourinho's punishment was a joke, especially since he wasn't under supervision for the duration of the game.

Mourinho made stuff up about Rijkaard cheating. Ballack actually cheated.

Quid pro quo :01:

uefa's report now supports chelsea's position. this shows what a joke uefa are, i think "the enemy of football" should just turn up to the next match and do his job since he really has done nothing wrong.

Humble pie time for you manker? ;)No 'cos Mourihno initially said that he saw Rijkaard go inside the ref's room.

He later, in Israel, said that he didn't actually see it but someone else did and he trusts their words absolutely, then that changed to the security cheif just seeing Rijkaard and Frisk chatting.

Chelsea still lied and deserve whatever they get :snooty:

Of course, this doesn't mean that UEFA aren't a bag of cawks too - their original 'enemy of football' stance seems to have been tempered somewhat

It took a deflection form Lucio, the same guy who deflected Joe Coles goal :01: Ł20 says he's off at half time just because he's bad luck

Bayern are playing better this leg but still not good enough.

3 Goals against a team with one of the best midfielders in the world, one of the best defenders and arguably the best keeper in the world is no easy task even for the mighty cheating Ballack.

Also has anyone even seen Maakay in the first half

not a particularly exciting match, but it's great watching Chelsea defend, i think they have reached defensive perfection. It's like the local council a brick wall infront of the Chelsea penalty area and raised the taxes in a sadistic act of councilism.
