Most games (bin. and cue. format ) have a nfo. file attached. I d/led 3 games with the nfo file and all three dont work. <_< When i click on the nfo. file it says something like "System information cannot open this file. It might be corrupted or an unrecognized version." Im assuming all three files cant be corrupted, so is there another verion of something that i have to get?

nfo files are info files. Open this using a text editor/viewer like notepad or wordpad.

They contain info like serial/crack data etc.

if its a .nfo just right click on the file and "open with" Notepad, if you are doing that then i dont know, ive never had any .nfo files get corrupted as they are only text documents.

hope this helps

Easier way around this:

download and install GetDiz from Outer Technologies. It's a text viewer designed specifically for openig these files.

Get it here. (http://www.outertech.com/downloads.php?product=7&PHPSESSID=bb2b5af8a1333c76e64feb185147ccfe)

Or another easier thing is to choose to integrate the .nfo file to open with notepad.

I think it would be easier for most people to install a new program rather than mess with the 'file types' windows.

The other reason I recommend GetDiz is that it replaces all the

stuff with better-looking graphics.

it's actually pretty small and it only becomes active when you open the files.

So it takes up about as much resources as Notepad does...

or just search on Kazaa for DAMN .nfo viewer.
It's ridiculously small, and is only used to open .nfo files.
Takes up almost no resources at all.

I like GetDiz too. It's simple, it works, it's tiny and it's free. :)

Click here ---> GetDiz 2.6 Freeware by Outer Technologies (http://www.outertech.com/product.php?product=7&PHPSESSID=673eb32978e685fee7564fd670afb4c3)

Works for more than just .nfo files.

Notepad can do this. Just change the font to terminal.

winxp by default seems to think that nfo is a system registry information file and assigns the extension.

If you override it through the right click method it will work but you will have to do it each time you read an nfo file.

A more permanent method is to reassign it in windows explorer. See...tools...folder options...file types and look for nfo.

Change the program which opens nfo files to notepad or as was suggested if you download a viewer then assign the extension to that prog.

hmm, now that i opened the file how do i apply the crack to the game, do i have to burn a whole new cd? And if i do have to burn a new disk, do i jsut drag the nfo. to the burn section next to the bin. file then jsut burn as usual?
