Maybe $10 extra..would it be worth it?

First one is good for a socket A board. Excellent sound. You'll hardly need another soundcard with that one.

Second link doesn't work.

Unless you specifically want the Wifi slot or the Gigabit ethernet, you could save a little money with this Abit board (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=13-127-166&depa=0). All the other features are identical, and many people think the overclocking features are better.

Lynx's ABIT also has "Soundstorm"...reputedly the finest on-board sound for the money.

I've used both and they were functionally equivalent for my 2600 T-bred.
I never really tried to push my chip much past 2.4GB though, so the Abit's vaunted clocking headroom remains a mystery to me.

The Asus' PCB is an ugly "baby poop" brown so it does lose some style points, if that matters to you.

Soundstorm is teh roka.

The Asus has it, but it doesn't say that very clearly on newegg.
