Hi i'd love for poeple to give me some ideas for Filesharingtalk.com. Both the forum and the main page. Please let me know if you can come up with any unique ideas of what can be done with the main page and if anything can be done to make the forum a more enjoyable place.

Try and intergrate the main page into the forum more, maybe with forum stats or last 10 topics or something.

Award members for things like:
Creepiest avatar (see wacko jacko's for an example) ;)

Most n00b friendly member

That's just to get the ball rolling... more award suggestions, anyone?

Also, we could impliment a voting system similar to the ratings slashdot members give on a per post basis.

Post ratings could be like:

good post
funny post
crap joke/pun
old news
spam
stfu/gtfo

It'll just give members a bit more interactivity and be good for a laugh.

That's possible.

I've seen more forums that do this.

But then we need to remove all the spam links, so teh members can't click em and the poster dont get any money etc.. Now we just trash em.

If the other mods/admins agree we can make it public I've started a thread about it in the TC ;)

personnally im against that suppose ur listening to ur own music on winamp and all of a sudden u start hearing some other kind of music u hate on another site...

surely will reduce guests ;)

I'd stick with the arcade as the next item to add in the immediate future, also possibly:

- Either change the new portal for better use or get rid of it and have the forum index page for the site's as well. My bookmark has gone straight over it since the change to vB (and probably did before it as well) and assume a few others are the same.

- One idea I have been using on a board I admin is what is called 'The Insane Asylum'. Its sole purpose is quite frankly to throw in spam that makes no sense to anyone except yourself - Kinda like primal screaming for forums :lol: Possibly unneeded as we have the Lounge/Drawing Room combo but it's an idea :)

Shoutcast seems pretty easy to use for radio style stuff. I played around with it lately for a laugh and I can't imagine it would be any stretch for someone to set up a proper deal for this.

We defiently have the people with the ability to do such things but whether they want to or anyone would really be interested is another matter.

Still, as sparsley says, it'd be better than an arcade.

also for people like me who make beat as in (instrumentals) im sure i could make a few beats and if anyone else ,load all them together and make 1 big track for the board that maybe loops over and over but make it long enough to so it does'nt seem as your listening to the same song over and over?

Well it would be simple, Illuminati, to start up Lounge radio, KLB radio or whatever...in fact I myself as you can see in my sig, run Ballad Radio and its a piece of cake...Trouble is or rather, was, that not many had interest in it....I would be prepared on a semi-regular basis to DJ FST lounge radio, for example evenings and weekends.... :music:


We could then have a contest for a sort signature tune ... oh yes and which member was it that offered to make jingles for the Lounge Radio? Maybe you can remember Illuminati?

If the awards night goes through, we'll obviously need to sort...
More categories for nominations- some funny, some serious.
Starting/end dates for the nominations.
A set date for the awards night itself (I suggest some time around Christmas - that's when the place gets the busiest, and it'll give us plenty of time to arrange everything).
Polls to decide the winners from the pool of nominees.
Prizes! - maybe some sort of special sig, specially coloured stars or custom member title will do? Would I be out of line by suggesting some of the winners become forum stars?
So... discuss?
