I highly reccomend auto GK as posted by asmithz, it creates avi's in divx or xvid format and for a free app its class :cool:

I havent needed to try a later version as of yet,
but wouldnt want to get some infested piece o' chit :P

I would recommend DrDivx. Its quick and really easy for the average user. Converts DVD to AVI in the click of a button. You just set certian things. And one of the features that i like best is that u can set the file size u want and it will auto set the quality and everything. So if you want to rip a DVD to CD, just set the file size to 700MB and everythingelse is basically done for u. Really neat. :)

After installing AutoGK, look under Control Panel/Add-Remove Programs, and check for a program called "DAE"

This release does contain a separate responsetarget advertizing software (see disclaimer in the installer) as was introduced in latest betas. Search the development forum for more info - it was extensively discussed there.

i installed autoGK 1.95, not the betas. DAE isnt in my add/remove programs. so i guess 1.95 is clean.

I beleve they are the same thing, autoGK is short for Auto Gordion knot.

There must be something different between the auto gk and gordion knot because there 2 different downloads and look totally different, tbh unless the spyware is totally dodgy and not just advertising I think auto gk has a much easier user interface.
