Some times, before I go to work in the mornig,
I star my PC to leave it downloading something, then, when I arrive later and whant to surf internet I find that my "IE History" has been deleted.

The only thing that ocurs to me,
is that my brother breaks into my room, surfs the net looking for "who knows what" -yea right- and then tries to erase his tracks...
could this be true?, is there something else I can do to prove me right or wrong?

In any case, I guess I'll put a keyword
cus he might end finding my tracks... .
Just kidding here.

You can do this for firefox, so i guess you could do this for IE

You can set it to delete the history every day, 2 days or weeks or whatever.

check your settings

Put a password on the login, then press windowsbutton+L when you leave then he can't use it without a) putting in the password or b) restarting.

Sounds like he is using it for off-hand usage, but...maybe you should let him? The lengths I had to go to to get porn off the internet when I was a nipper was ridiculous. And then it was in ASCII :crying:

oh i would be harsh, especially if you have ntfs :P

there's a setting - I thought it was in TweakUI, but couldn't find it when I looked. - that allows you to set IE to dump history & cache on close or logoff, but I couldn't find it right now. if nothing else, you can use group policy to do it.
Perhaps this is what's happening on your machine?

Seriously, I cringe a little when I realise how much my parents could see what I had been browsing when I was younger. No wonder they put a password on the computer...

You think a disappearing history is wierd?

I'm currently working in Belfast, on a pc I've never used before.
I started to type in "filesh..." and it popped up with the autocomplete option straight to this board.

Now that's wierd.

Nope, I'm not at a "public" access pc (or at anything my "boss" could trace, since I'm my own boss :P ).

I'm actually working in one of the government offices though, and quite a few people have had access to this pc over recent weeks, so it's probable that VB is right about another member using it.

Wonder who it is.
