Pretty sure only admin can do that. I remember reading a post here that it was possible but the particular admin said he had better things to do and couldn't be arsed to wade thro' the drivel - or words to that effect.

Just reading a bit about it on the interweb and there are a few hacks that admin can implement so mods can read member's pms, but they can't by default.

Admin can read them anyway if they know a bit about coding.

I don't know about admins, but the mods can't read other member's PMs.

Not even being an admin is enough by default, unless a script is installed to read them.

The main way to read PMs requires access to the webspace - More specifically, access to the forum's MySQL database where everything is readable (except passwords, which are MD5-encrypted).

I do it for my uni class's forum occassionally though I've admitted at being able to from the start. :shifty: It gives a load of information that's useful (like who's using what skins, who's sending personal attacks, etc) but only I have access to the database and don't share the info with others. ;)
