Is it possible to get your saved passwords out of your firefox profile and move them onto another pc?
I just changed pc's today and I can't remember half my passwords

you could just copy the entire profile directory over, i don't know about just the passwords, you might have more luck on the Firefox forums http://forums.mozillazine.org/index.php

Just go to Tools > Options > Privacy > View Saved Passwords > Show Passwords.
Then you'll get the list with all your usernames and passwords along with the sites they're used for.

Hmm, you know what I tried that method first off but it fucked everything up and it was mad when it opened up
So I deleted it uninstalled & re-installed but somehow, and I have no clue how, all my passwords are being remembered my firefox when I go to the sites?
Its kind of worrying
all i know is that your passwords are kept in your profile folder in "signons.txt"

That's a good piece of info there mate! Thanks, that will surely come in handy someday I'm sure.
(Just a thought though... If someone was able to get into your computer, wouldn't they have access to do the same? )

Probably not. The info is stored in an encrypted file in your Firefox profile, which in turn resides in a folder with a name that is made up of randomly generated letters and numbers.
The odds of a remote attacker getting past that and the encryption is pretty small...
If a person gets local access, then it's your own fault for not having a password on your Firefox profile.

You can always set a master password on your Password folder to keep nosy people out.
Again go to Tools > Options > Privacy > Saved Passwords > Set Master Password :)
