After installing the latest klite mega codec pack 1.30 i get a strange icon in the sytem tray when i played a film that said it was ogg format in the gspot tool but the extension at the end was avi.

I tried to turn this off in the MP4 splitter, as that was the only thing i could see that metions the system tray and then the film would`nt play. I`d get an error.

Maybe it`s nothing but it`s one of those annoying things that was`nt there before i updated my codec pack.

Does this mean i have to uninstall and then reinstall the pack again. Also it hung there for ages saying it was finishing set up and never did so i closed it down.

Probably these program slowing setup. Try disabling they before install.

Look if there are red items in gspot under List codecs and other filters. Probably there are some thing that interfering with setup.

It says the divx decoder filter is missing.

Try:
1) Reboot PC
2) Uninstall codec pack
3) Reboot PC
4) Reinstall codec pack
5) Reboot PC

It does the same. :(

When i install the codec pack i don`t install the divx player because i`ve already got one. The same goes for the media clasic player and the bs player and also the real alternative player because i favour real player. I`ve also noticed that it does`nt install the ffdshow filter.

Do you think this has anything to do with it.???

That icon is from the Ogg splitter. Even though the file plays with the .avi file extension, it should be .ogm instead :)

Anyways, you can disable the icon from showing. Right-click on it. Properties > Ogg Splitter.

I`ve just unistalled the klite mega codec pack and installed the latest version of just the klite codec pack. This seemed to install ok but the decoder is still missing. I don`t this this is the reason that it kept hanging about before.

The reason i think it was`nt finishing installing is because at the end it says that it want`s to check for the latest codecs version and opens up a new window going to the latest codec pack page.
