I saw this movie lastnight at a pre-screening and it rawks!!! Fantasic special effects and funny as crap. ( I even scored a free t-shirt)
I didnt know it was a British movie but I love Monty Python and this movie was right down that alley. (Weird kind of humor)
The little manic depressed robot was so cute lol
Zaphod Beeblebrox was Hot :naughty:
The funny thing also was all the ppl there with towels or in bathrobes...reminded me of Rocky Horror Picture Show lmao

This was one of my fav movies and a must see!

Had you read the book, heard the radio show or seen the tv series before?

Actually no, I heard of the book I think it came out in the 70's? and I'm not sure but did the series come out on PBS stations?
I'm just a big scifi fan.

ihave heard mixed reviews. so far all the fans seem to be up in arms about having to cut out alot of the jokes which is rather irratating.

still glad you enjoyed it, i will be seeing it.

This confirms what I said all along....

Whatever you see (or read) first....if you liked it, you probably won't like the translation to film or remake.

Most American audiences will love this movie because most of us either didn't watch or like the British version(s).

I hope they have it at the drive-in.....on second thought this movie looks like it should be for the regular cinema,

Is that right Ford Prefect is a black American? A bt ironic, that... much like the alien posing as an illegal alien at the beginning of MIB.

Um... the answer is 42.
Or, IIRC, "6x6=42" or summat.

Nope - Saw it last night but haven't seen/read/heard it before so didn't know :(

Still, it's a great film - It's obviously British with the humour and that :D

Best things of the film go are a mix between Stephen Fry as the Galaxy, and the opening music, "So Long and Thanks for All the Fish"

EDIT: Speaking of which, stay until most of the credits are rolled - Another Galaxy entry will show up then :D

Wow you guys that seen this movie liked it? It had to be the worst movie on the face of the planet! I thought it was gonna be funny but there just wasn't anyhting funny, I tried to get a kick or laugh out of it and it just sucked to bad. In fact it was so bad it was the first movie I walked out on it was just the biggest disapointment.

agreed, it was a disappointment.

Sin City, though, was amazing... but that's for another thread.

I watched it last night. I got a few laughs out of the manic depressed robot, but other than that, I'd say it was terrible.
