Here’s a little project I’ve been working on since Christmas, its taking time because moneys a factor ;) But I’m in no rush :) I call her Scully

I’ve had the mobo since Christmas (Gigabyte 7N400PRO2) and bought the PSU the other day which is a Silent XPower AOpen, I chose that because of it’s “12 fan and huge exhaust, it’s meant to be incredibly silent – It’s even got a knob at the back for complete control :mushy: Might try it out later in my current machine

The case is a Cooler Master Cavalier – TO3 – picked it up at PCWorld the other day, would have cost much more with shipping online. It looks so very sexay, there’s two USB and one Firewire just to the left of the front and audio/MIC to the right, the hinge on the door is solid too, can’t see that breaking anytime soon. Very pleased with it indeed :D My only gripe is that the fan control for the Processor fan isn’t flush with the rest of the front, it’s got to sit in deeper so that the door can close, my knobs too big :sadwalk:

The fans a Gigabyte 3D Cooler Pro, All I need is an AMD XP for it to sit on, thinking about going with a 3000 Barton

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v661/mrmulder/inside2.jpg

My only concern is whether or not the cooling and fans contradict themselves? There’s an 80mm at the front which is sucking air in and then there’s the 120mm and the “12 PSU fan sucking air out, but when you add the Cooler Pro into the equation, it’s going to be sending some air into the wrong direction, would it not?

I’ve got a 90mm Acoustifan that’s not in use, could I place that somewhere useful, or where ones needed?

Already got some DDR lined up, but any suggestions for a DVD-RW and hard drive are more than welcome :)

Nice, y not get a AMD 64?

Got the board awhile back and the 64 option was a bit too pricey in the long run, And I'm only buying what I need, not the latest stuff - not a big gamer at all really, so it's not needed

(though it would be nice for playing Morrowind, my second home  )

Nice gear, it's going to perform at least as well as mine, and I have nothing to complain about with my rig so far.

I'm getting a bit bored with the brushed aluminum look myself, my case has that too, though. Was planning on painting mine glossy white or black.

If you care about the looks of it you might want a couple of these.

Coolermaster aluminum drive bezels (http://www.com-tra.de/img/p/04825_o.jpg)
They fit most drives and they don't cost very much, fitted one on mine and it looks quite nice.
they also come in black.

yeah PCWorld had them in stock too, about £8 they were, I've got two old CD drives here and tried getting the fronts off of both of them, seems near impossible? :ermm:

hows your new card working btw? :01:

she is hawt isn't she  do you think there's any sort of way to fade a pic of scully in on one of the side panels, some sort of silver metallic pic of her would be most excellent :lookaroun

Could always go down to your local Dairy Queen or Baskin Robin's and have one of those cake decals made of Gillian Anderson. It might work, and if not, you could just, eat it.

that's a bit like the case i was aiming for, if i wasn't too impatient

maybe it's possible to do some hologram effect on the brushed aluminium or whatever it's called but i'm guessing it's expensive.

and although she's a pretty lady a case with her face on would look a bit... :ermm:

for some reason i feel the need to photoshop

arc. get me a pic of the side and that green stripey catsuit picture :naughty:

As you say, damn near impossible with the drawer closed though.

ok seriously....what were you thinking? Not to be mean...but starting to buy stuff and keep buying stuff over a period of time is a horrible idea because prices will go down..you prob could get an a64 system right now for the price of the parts for that one

It's a great idea actually, I did it and it worked out to my advantage...
Just remember to leave the most expensive gear to buy last, as they will have more of a chance to drop in price... :p

It works very well, though I managed to get the overclock on the identical card I helped my brother buy order a bit higher.

Prolly 'cos his airflow, which I also helped him sort out , is better.

You don't need to get the old fronts off to mount those aluminum fronts on.

Observe. (http://www.ninjalane.com/display.aspx?docname=alloybezelbk)

Actually, this one is better. (http://www.hexus.net/content/reviews/review.php?dXJsX3Jldmlld19JRD00NjcmdXJsX2hpc3Rvcnk9LTI=)

It might seem like it would look bad or something fitting them like that, but it looks really good once they are on, and it isn't flimsy or anything.
