I still use Firefox.
I also still appear to be using firefox.

I will let everyone know if I change.

Well maybe not everyone.

That would take too long.

Just the people here.

And maybe somewhere else.

Yes, that would probably be best.

But I'll let everytone know if I change that plan.

Well maybe not everyone.

That would take too long.

Just the people here.

You haven't really thought thro' whether or not I've thought this thro'.I'm trying to get information to the masses. I assumed you were likeminded.

What you should do is try to make everyone aware of your browser choice.

Or would that take too long.

Perhaps an announcement in The Times.

Then at least the proper sort would be aware. I could then just let it filter down to the hoi poloi.

Some days later, The Sun also carried their announcement of heterosexual harmony. So I found out eventually.

I'd have swapped if the speeds were poor or if the connection was dodgy but as it is I'm uploading, downloading or both 24/7 and never had any problems.

No need to beat yourself up about using them as an ISP but using their browser, mail client or tech-help is another matter entirely, avoid them like the plague, install your own software and get tech-help from rossco :D

AOL is(was) fine, no need to use their browser, just use the modem installation software on the disc for the modem they sent you, however, I'd be extremely worried now that Carphone Warehouse has bought the UK division of aol, how long before they put a monthly bandwidth cap or use anti p2p stuff on it?:O

I don't believe i'm the only person so far that uses AOL,
In a way I wish I had of not voted, it's quite embarrassing http://www.sheringhamsurf.com/html//emoticons/eekout.gif
I use an old version, i'm quite happy with it, but no way would I install AOL 9, it's total crap, and over loaded with useless add-ons, I would not recommend it to anyone, AOL's downfall in the software dept was version 9.
I don't have to use AOL software at all as all my computers run on an ethernet network, it's just the box that connects, not my Pc's.
As a secondary browser I use IE7 as when I'm working on my sites when using AOL i'm not seeing swf, jpg's etc live, it's not a problem doing it the way I do

I'm also amazed at the number of people using FireFox.

I do and I love it,

As its faster than IE
Cos its not Micro$oft
Cos its faster than IE
Cos its not bloatware
Cos it has a nice clean tidy interface
Cos its are way ahead of IE in features - its took them years to get to IE7

But in the mainstream press Firefox is reported as only 5 or 10% of the market, but I suppose they refer to corporates and first time computer users not professionals such as us !

Firefox and nothing but, it sucked during its earlier incarnation as Firebird but its come a long way since 2003. I had IE 6 controlled to a degree with the help of various tools but once Mozilla reigned in Firebird and made into a sturdier browser with a new name there was no reason to keep using IE anymore. Plus its free and IE 7 doesn't even come close.

have used firefox for quite a while but split between it and ie7 now. only because i have noticed when converting movies and other such resource heavy tasks like that in the background, ie7 seems to load and run faster the firefox plus it uses almost 3 times less memory which when using ancient machines like me that's a huge deal.;) i still like firefox and will continue to use it, but ie7 really shows some good improvements. i know most of them were in firefox before ie, but there were other browsers out before firefox that ideas were taken from so lets not start that war.:P

I use Firefox mainly, however I also have Opera installed for when I need to hide my tracks. I have Opera set to not save cookie, history, etc..., so when I go to sites that I don't want my wife to see.... Well, you know.

firefox is good and all but sometimes when i leave it idle and play a game, and im wondering why it's all laggy, i minimize the game and find that for some damned reason firefox is using about 80mb of ram... and no the webpages i left idle were just html. strange
i used opera but it got frustrating when dling torrents... opera acted like a torrent client and it got me real pissed off i didnt even bother configuring opera just shut it off and went back on my firefox.

most of all... why has Safari gotten no ... VOTES!?
i mean, on Apple's webpage Safari is _advertised_ to be about twice as fast as firefox and four times as fast as internet explorer. no one using safari is just incomprehendable to me. i dont use safari because i have a pc, but there has to be some mac users out therewho use it!?

I have Opera set as my default webbrowser since its fast and lightweight. However, I use Firefox 90% of the time because of the features (extentions). But yeah, Opera is very sweet. :D

Mozilla FireFox. It is the best. and now the IE has stolen the idea of Tabs.

The best I like with FireFox is the smart text search and many plugins :D

Not that I like taking up for IE... but firefox definitely has no claim to TABS. Maxthon had that feature like 4 years ago, and I doubt it was even the first.

ps... maxthon uses the IE display engine

Tabbed browsing was around before Firefox, they simply popularized the idea.
