Dear Sir/Madam

I had to get up at 1 a.m. this morning to let the cat out. While I was waiting for him to return I switched on BBC News 24 on the TV. There was an update on the uprising in Uzbekistan. A lot of people had been killed in the uprising there. the uprising is apparently the local Muslim population revolting against the 'dictator' of the area. People are being imprisoned just for standing in opposition to the 'dictatorship'. People are being thrown into prison and tortured for no apparent reason. Then you have the killings yesterday by the 'Government' troops. The BBC went over to an American 'spokesman' for comments from Washington.

The Washington spokeman said and I quote 'You can not achieve democracy by civil or any other type of violence to remove the encumbent Government. Democracy has to be achieved by peaceful means' unquote.

Incidentally America has a very large Air Force base in Ubekistan, close the Russian border. With the blessing of the said 'dictator'. If the Muslim uprising were to succeed would this base be in danger.

I honestly could not believe what I was hearing from Washington. I am an old man and maybe I am not picking up the crux of this situation. Did something of that nature happen in a few other countries recently with Americas blessing about the 'rise of democracy'. Please someone enlighten me.

Confused Kilmarnock:(

I don't believe that research. I have tried the same effect with random words and it simply doesn't work. Context is also required.
