I downloaded the amityville horror and thought it was good. I was looking at boogeyman but apparently its rubbish. What new scary would you advise to watch?

sorry to say it my honest opionion is modern horror movies just suck ass!!!!!!!

there either a remake "cough" amityville horror "cough" house of wax "cough" texas chainsaw Mascure or some teen pathetic predictable flick.

the horror movies I would go for and love are

The Exorcist
Rosemary's Baby
The Omen
Carrie (more of a art movie though)
Friday the 13th
Halloween (the one that started it all)
Physco (yes the original not that pathetic remake with the exact same script for lazy kids who can't appreciate black and white art)
An American Werewolf in London
A Nightmare on Elm Street
Hellraiser 1 and 2
The Fly
Texas Chainsaw Massacre

I think the Ring is basically the only modern Horror flick that is Good, lets just name a few

Scream (I classify this is comedy)
I know what you did last summer (teen movie??? do I smell making Halloween modern?)
The Grudge (haven't seen the original watch the other version had some chair jumpers I guess but found it boring)
Boogymen (terrible "Cough" another remake
Dawn of the Dead (hmm yet another remake this movie was just bad!!!!)
Hide and Seek (haven't seen it heard it sucked though)
House of wax (umm yeah ruin a classic and have Paris Hilton in it)

I think I'll shut up now

Rosemary's Baby

I still haven't seen that, but the book was damn good.

Don't think I've seen anything lately that could be classed as a good horror, but the flying cow in Dog Soldiers made me jump. :D

Final Destination 2 was good, merely for the classy death scenes.

Dark Water looks on point.

I want to see Dominion, I heard this was darker and more jumpy than the other one that was released. This is what the director made and the version that came out before was what the producers/bureacrats thought would gross more money.

Rosemary's baby was really just okay. If you're looking for a horror movie, I wouldn't recommend it - in fact, I found it slightly boring and definately long. It wasn't like a fun horror movie that scares you afterwards. Roman Polanski's directing is very good in that movie though.

High Tension's gonna make up for all the crappy PG-13 horror movies coming out in the past little bit.
