I use K-Lite and would like to know the best way to hide my IP from those who would sue me. Any suggestions?

Much appreciated!

simple... don't share/promote their artists works.

kazaa lite has IP blocking (keep it up to date) but thats not 100% protection
the newer versions of kazaa lite don't let users browse your shares, so thats some protection from being indexed as a king pin.
do you know the odds are greater for being struck by lightning then getting sued for filesharing?

You could use socks proxy or apps like hopster also.
The easiest though may be a vpn like at findnot...

Thanks for the advice. I try to keep a low profile, not downloading TOO much, but I'd rather be safe than sorry.

Use Protowall ( http://www.bluetack.co.uk ). This program will block certain IPs from connecting to ur computer. It wont "hide" ur IP but gives u extra protection. If you really want to hide ur IP, look into proxies and stuff ;)

Just so you know as Ive just recently taken a look at this app again it appears they have bundled some web optimizer which I have no clue whats its actually and intended to do and may be adware related. There may be an option in the installer to not have it if I remember correctly although if not it can be removed throung the control panel. I do have the older version if you prefer that as it looks rather similar although if your to worried you can get the latest version at...

I'm tempted to try this one out.
Is it any good?

edit:
Hm,just checked and there doesn't seem to be an option to exclude webhancer from the app.
Think I'll pass on this one, unless I can find an older version without webhancer.
This is webhancer's site btw (http://www.webhancer.com/).

Does this classify as spyware?

webcancer is one of the worse, it overwrites system files in the TCP stack

Yea,I just looked it up on Google :pinch:
Oh and you can leave it out if you want but if I understand correctly you loose your anonimity along with it.
