Don't blink! That's rule for me :lol: Once you start seeing the illusion, there's no need to blink for some reason until you snap out of it.

This looks IMPOSSIBLE! I can't believe.

So I used PaintShop Pro and did a color sample of block A and block B, and the colors were exactly the same. I still wasn't convinced, It just didn't look correct. So I copied a section of block B and pasted it onto block A. It is TRUE, both shades are exactly the same!

These optical illutions are great. I still don&#39;t believe that A and B are the same shade of gray. Are the two squares the same shade, or just the letters?

The squares are identical in grey shades, not the lettering.

Use a paint program and capture a section of grey from one block then paste (or drag) that section to the other. They are exactly the same shade.

Or

Use a paint program that can capture colors (and display RGB values) from an image. Compare the colors.

The RGB vales for both boxes are:

Red=107
Green=101
Blue =107

The gradients of the hypotenuses of the triangles are slightly different (red is 3/8 and green is 2/5), so the two shapes are different.

Therefore, the two large triangles are different sizes, which is where the hole comes from.
