Sims Hot Date - Please Please Help!

I downloaded the sims hot date from the verifieds, its all ready to install, accepts the serial number and then gets stuck looking for the data2.cab file saying its not there....I seem to remember this happening about a year ago with something else.....cant remember what I did, probably gave up.....any suggestions??????

I have looked all through this forum... (well back a month) and there seems to be nothing helpful....

You need an original copy of The Sims for the expansions to work.

<_< Verified u say umm i got this prob with the hotdate from kazaa in end i had to get all the full cds from ShareReactor and i have the full versions payed for of sims and sims livin it up

It&#39;s quite likely your download was corrupt v_Virus_v. Kazaa, as we all know, doesn&#39;t have any form of error correction. However, if you have a ripped version of The Sims, which sara5564 didn&#39;t say whether or not she did, the verified ISOs for the expansions won&#39;t work.

I have now got the full original disc for the sims.....by the way....a couple of weeks ago I posted that I was having troubles with a backup copy as I was waiting for the disc back from Maxis...no one believed me&#33;&#33;&#33; They all said I must have downloaded it&#33; (not surprisingly)

Well, this week I got it back so I am running the sims from the real disk now.....so does this help with suggestions about the data2.cab?

It was not corrupt the file data2.cab was not in the rip lol the ass that rip it left it out lots of peeps when i did a google search had this prob to. I would say use overnet or edonkey and get the full cd version :)

My mistake, then. I thought you got Hot Date from the disc images that either The_Great_Dude or myself posted. ;)

If it&#39;s a disc image, likely. If it&#39;s it a rip, no.

I had the same problem, but lucky for me I already had data2.cab on my comp from another SIMS game. I think it was the first one. I also had it in another folder that had nothing to do with the sims and it worked fine, BUT once u get data2 in there it will ask for data3, data4, data5 and so on, up untill about data12.. heh it was a pain in the ass doing all the copy/paste work, but it worked..

Ok....so where does this leave me?

I am running original sims...
Hot Date is a verified with serial numbers that work ok but no data2.cab

Where do I actually get a data2.cab file from if it is not detecting the ones in the original sims disc?

I am getting a bit confused here...durrr :D
