i just bought some akai headphones that clip to your ears a week ago. i like them; they have great sound, but it's a bit annoying to manage them.

i use them with my iPod mini. if i just shove the whole thing into my pocket, headphones, mini and all, it gets tangled. what i've been doing is wrapping the headphone cord inside the belt clip of the mini and clipping the wire in so it can't shift around.

it works well, but it's sort of annoying to do every time i put my mini away, and it's also a bit of a hassle to take them out each time.

what can i do/use to manage my headphone wire so it doesn't tangle and is easy to access/put away?

please don't reccomend a set of new headphones; if possible i want to use the ones i have, seeing as i just bought them a week ago.

What I do with my sony earbuds that I use with my mp3 player is just wrap them around the mp3 player when I put it away. Makes everything so much easier.

thanks for the response, LP

Yeah, that's sorta what i've been doing. maybe it's the best solution. it'd be cool if there was a sort of tapemeasure system where u can pull the wire out of a dispenser or something and when ur not using them it'll roll back up into the dispenser.

any other ideas?

That would be a fecking awesome idea :) Do they get tangled when you wrap em around something?

they don't tangle when i wrap them, but it's just that it's annoying to take out and put away like that.

it's not that it's the biggest deal in the world, but it seems like by now after all of the success of the portable music industry that somebody would've developed a simple organizational solution.

If you're handy you could make your own similar to those. :)

Why not have the earbuds surgically implanted and run the cables subdermally to a socket at your waist?

Upgrades would be a bitch, but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.

No idea but you should be able to find something similar or perhaps make your own.
