thank god it just supports the pixel shaders that BF2 uses (1.4)

halo was a demo and it let me play for over an hour , BUT it only had one map, which was alright . Simply restricting the amount you can play on a game, especially for a short time is simply ludicrous.

Playing against bots, test how it plays on your system, its a free days before retail so get use to the controlls, hopefully a server patch is released or cracked servers.

UT2004 is an 'online' game yet on the day of release it got more leechers on most torrent sites than Far Cry (Released both on the same day by DEViANCE)

You can play with the Public Server Patch, although you don't even need to right now. EA havn't activated there authentication servers because the game isn't out yet you can play online as much as you want before you need to move over to the cracker servers in a few days. Nice idea of EA gives pirates a chance to play the full game online before attempting to cut them off and make them buy.

BFV didnt had this much mobility and weaponary in it and its 1.90Gb BF2 with almsot 3 time more stuff is still same size, obviously they didnt pay much efforts in it(even less).

Thing is Bawa's pc sounds like a piece of shit anyway, half the games he says play so dakr he can hardly see them. Havn't tested it yet on my pc, might install later just have to have quick go online as i've never played any of the Battlefield series.

so far ive just complained about GTA and BF2, most ofthe games like MOH: PA, COD: UO and NFSUG2 with such huge load went perficly for me with almost highest setting, even Battel Field's pervious versions.

the engines are completely different. the old one was no way near as efficient as this one, scenery can be rendered from a distance. vehicles handle better. view distance seems to have doubled. there's better shadows and ragdoll, but you can't ride the tanks anymore thanks to that :fist:


you can have an entire well built village (not two or three generic buildings on sand) with a fire fight and smoke grenades going on; all viewed down from a scope half a mile away and still keep a decent framerate. the old engine would never have been able to do that on what would even today be considered a decent pc.

does anyone have a 9700 pro? and if so, does the retail game play well? I played the demo, and it plays fine, but I was just wondering If I should expect any issue with the full retail version. I have played demos in the past, and then the retail comes out, and it seems more hoggish on resources, but Im no expert either. I know my specs will be fine other than maybe the vid card (if at all, not real sure tho) I run 3.3ghz 1gig ram, and the vid card is 128, but obviously an older one. i was driving a buggy with three of us in to a control point, then a full enemy buggy drove past. i decided this wasn't on so gave chase. there was a chase of about 30 seconds with my men spraying the enemy buggy and them what seemed running for their lives. eventually their buggy started putting out black smoke. they drove into a back alley behind a shop. one of our men got out and crept round the left while me and the other guy took the right. there was no one there so we started making our way back to the buggy and the emeny stood up from where they hid and were shooting us from on top of the shop. there was a short fire-fight which we won. then when the round finished my PC crashed, so now i'll never be able to see if there was a battlerecorder file :fist:

I have a 9600 pro and the game seems to run fine on medium settings (which it choose itself). Although I have only played on 16 player maps and haven't flown any jets. More players on screen or faster movement may take it's toll :unsure:

I dont know about your joystick problems, BUT, to get the airplanes on maps in LAN mode, you need to select 32 player map, not 16. :)

1) there's a few offline maps with planes. look for runways on the preview map

2) STFU pussy. flying heliboppers is easy with keyboard and mouse. i think you just configure joystick settings like keyboard settings, i'm not a pansy so i don't know

3) yeah the server screen pisses me off too. it locks up for a few minutes when you refresh, by the time you get your pc back all the stats have changed and you get knocked back because said server is now full, then you gotta do it again and only rarely do you get a ping. fix it dice :fist:

Anyone else getting randomly disconnected from servers fairly often, with the message "there is a problem with your internet connection?" (when you joined a ping 0 server, and there's nothing wrong with your connect? This is just the default "you're lagging" message).

Also, the load screens and "client verification" are about four times longer than the beta, wtf. Nothing like getting a worse client for actually paying for the game...

Server selection is also very laggy -- hitting refresh stalls the client for a while as it repopulates. Oh yeah, and sorting by ping doesn't always sort by ping... lol

Looks like we need an immediate patch -- lots of bitching on the offical EA forums:

i own the game. the server list is really dodgy. it rarely pings servers and it will say slots are free on servers when they aren't; therefore the best way to get in a game is run battlefield 2 then at the multiplayer screen alt-tab to ASE and find a decent server in that, memorize the IP or write it down then alt-tab back to the game and "connect to ip"... join. way more successful than trying to use the built in server list.


how do you mean random crashes? i've had a good few while trying to refresh serverlist, a couple while joining games, a few random disconnects, and one blue-screen-of-death. the first two can be avoided using ASE, i think the second may be when other people in the house decide to use all the internet bandwidth and the last has only happened once in 30 hours gameplay so i think that's a one-off :fingerscrossed:

the game does sometimes stall for about 10 seconds while i'm playing, i'm pretty sure that's down to msn messenger trying to be 'always on top'.

so you just want to run a brand spanking new, just out, game, with huge/massive open playing areas and lots and lots of varied activity going on all at once all over the shop with a fairly big sized resolution and all the eye candy on high and you want this from a 'free' (assuming you need cracked servers for a cracked game) game........not much to ask for i suppose :unsure:

btw if you like this kinda game it is def worth buying, you will defo get your moneys worth and then some there are hours of playability and new maps/mods/skins will appear. As gepper says there are a few 'glitches' which will hopefully get ironed out by patches, but it certainly doesn't get in the way of you having a great time playing the game.Each day more and more servers crop up and it seems more and more ranked (on which i get my ass kicked) servers. Doesn't appear to be many peeps utilising the voip system though which is a shame i think. In fact communication of any sort between team mates is scarce even taking into consideration that peeps you 'meet' on the web speak different languages, the inbuilt command system deals with that with a point click communication type thingy.
