torrentspy sucks cock now my friend... Its been bloacking other searches too, such as family guy, and starwars. again TS is simlpy going down hill. Thepiratebay will hopefully be the #1 source for torrents.

Yeah I noticed this too. It's not really a big problem, I tried "Family Guy" and got that same message. Instead, type "Family" and you'll see Family Guy torrents, then you can click the Family Guy catagory next to the torrent.

Yeah, "Windows XP Pro" is blocked. Thats pointless, you can just type "Windows XP" and the pro is in the results.

I remeber back in the day when audioglaxy had something similar happen. It got to the point where you had to mispell words to get results. ie. MnM instead of eminem. I was horrible. I was using it for a short time after napster went south

what's your max connection speed?

because I NEVER got my max speed on public trackers and I always get my max speed on private trackers. (and I'm not the only one.)

It's known that public trackers are FULL of leechers who have their upload capped and dont seed after they have it complete

if you mean by public torrent sites, then yes nothing is bigger then PB at the moment.

But Private torrent sites are better place, for obvious reasons, plus you get very fast downloading speed....

Its not that hard to get around the search block. Instead of searching 'family guy' just use 'family'.

Torrentspy has been my source for a while now, so I'm not surprised that it's starting to go tits up. Torrent sites have about a 6-8 month lifespan, then they get discovered by the wrong people. Remember Suprnova?

Yes, I'd never used a private site till now, and I definitely see the difference. However Suprnova was a great site for what it was, and torrentspy was too.

I agree, Private sites are much better, but Torrentspy isn't junk just yet. You can always use it to find new tracker sites, or just come up with more clever searches that aren't blocked as strings. I love that Guy Family show, man CSPAN is awesome! At least they aren't shut down though.

You guys whining about such things are completely naive to things.

Since the legal ramifications of Bittorrent (in the US anyways) still aren't clear, it's becoming more and more costly to battle the MPAA in the courts. This is causing some sites to shut down and others to do things such as what TorrentSpy has done to cover their asses.

I download illegal files so I would never bitch and moan about what happens to Bittorrent sites. I just wish them well and move onto the next one. (not to mention the above mentioned tricks)
