Even if Sadam is still alive, we have taken their central headquarters. They have no way to comunicate with the republican gaurd if they wanted to. This looks like this is the end.

I am watching a special report that started a little over half and hour ago. The U.S. has taken bagdad, and I'm shocked and very very happy to see the Iraqi's responce. There are smiles on there face. They are tearing down a VERY large statue of Sadam, and the are beating pictures of Sadam with there shoes. It fills me with so much JOY to see this. I wish it could have happened without going to war, but If war was the only way, then so be it. I believe that this did need to get done.

I'm happy to!!! :D

My feeling is that the whole islamic world was misunderstood all these years. They just were to affraid to talk open.
Now the &^%$%^of a Bitch is gone (hopefuly) they seem to open themselves!

Tears in my eyes man! Really! At this moment i'm watching it to! (just would like to see the statue go down now! )
I hope they they won't life in poverty anymore because Sadam stole all their money all these years.. there is enough to build up everything now!

Don't know what to say more at this point... Let's just hope for the best!

Maybe peace is really possible? More pieces of the world to go...! ;)

EDIT: So there are good Football players aswell in Iraq! Let's see what else comes from this... musicians and other artists... can't wait!

I was just watching the end of the regme on TV. Iraqi's were shaking hands of the army and they were taking sledge hammers to the biggest Sadam Statue in Baghdad whilst attaching a rope to his neck with the hope to toppling him. They also were throwing shoes, which I believe is an insult to the person in that country.

One thing annoys me is the thought that America may change the Iraqi currency to Dollars?! This I hope does not happen.

They have a recovery vehicle tied to the statue. These vehicles are used in pulling broken down tanks to get fixed.

IT SHOULD BE COMING DOWN SOON!!!!! ;)

I agree with you rockton, and I mentioned that to my friends who were watching tv with me. I couldn't honestly say how the public views on colours were, if there was a certain rule of what to wear, but certainly now the colours are far more vibrant that I remember.

Do you think its all over really ?
Where have they all fled to ?
I do hope its over but I guess there will be
a knock on effect for years to come.
I think its only just started.
Sorry to be so blunt but thats how I feel.

I believe this is the end of the war, and the beginning of the 'new beginning'. Battles are still going on, We still need to take Sadam's home town, but we have taken most of there capital. The people are celibrating, as the news spreads, more and more will rejoice. The war is winding down. We just need to take out whatever enemies still exist, which is very few.

I had no hope what so ever when this war started. I was affraid of chemical warfare... Yes i know it could still happen, but the things i see on TV now are so overwhelming that i can't think of anything but peace now.. sorry! And you, me and the rest of the world hopes this is the case right now!

Let's just think positive from now on.. okay?

To paraphrase Winston Churchill, it may not be the beginning of the end but it's definately the end of the beginning. Nice to see the Iraqis burning pictures of Saddam and not my National Flag!!! I was watching some good battle footage on Breakfast TV. An American Unit was under fire and one of the soldiers had been shot in the left leg. Whilst being patched up he continued to shoot back at the enemy. Brave chap!! Who knows what the next few weeks will bring?? A lasting peace hopefully.

Well, I have to agree with Powell on that.

If Syria is providing sanctuary to terrotists, (which we have know for some time was true), then they should be next in line.

When police in this country are looking for escaped fugitives and they know where they went, what do you think they should do.

Oh...BTW...Does Syria have oil?

I don't remember it on the list.

Hold on...Let me check...

Hmmm...Interesting.

Syria does not have enough oil to be an oil exporter.

Not enough to be financially benificial to the US.

Hmmm...All the people who pitched a fit about how we attacked Iraq for the oil will need to come up with a new conspiracy theory to explain Syria.

I can't wait to see what they come up with. :D

Peace

All the Iraqies are happy ,yes that they no longer have to answer to anybody for their looting ,if you call that liberation I personally dont like to be liberated and then looted by the thugs that on the first opportunity began to couse anarchy.Bush claims he is going to rebuild iraq with schools, hospitals and the economy .Bush is obviously crazy or nuts our schools at home are short of supplies, our hospitals are being close, and our economy is worst ever under any president. Our nation has a 300,000 deficit before the war and bush will add the cost of the war to the deficit, plus he is passinf a tax cut on dividend for about 130,000 million,Bush is nuts if we the nation doesnot get any gain through taxes ,we are going in to farther bankrupcy, this president's the only asset is his name that comes from a previous presidente, other then that he will bring us down .No matter how much oil we loot from Iraq's oil well's it will not bring us  back the prosperity we had during last and previous administration's.

The National Museum of Antiquities in Baghdad was looted. After officials at the Pentagon assured various people that it would be protected from damage and looting. It only took 48 hours to cart off or destroy well over 50,000 artifacts.

So much for wanting to understand and preserve the past.

Truly, a tragic day.
