Im planning on getting a 200gb hdd soon (maybe next xmas or earlier if have the $$). I want want to know if my primary (master) hard drive ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=22-144-152&depa=0 ), will be able to work well with this hard drive (will be the secondary/slave hdd), http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16822144153 ....

A friend of mine told me that a a hard can only work with the hard drive of same size and same type, which sounds a bit false. I know that IDE can only work with IDE, and SATA can only work with SATA. please correct me if im wrong...

It will work with ANY drive.
The only time the size/specs have to be the same is if your doing a RAID config (you most likely are not).

and also to clarify even further, I have a 80gb SATA as my primary (master) and 2 IDE drives as slaves. So they DO operate together. as a side note, my mobo has built in SATA. :) (ASUS P4C800-E deluxe)

If it's this DFI Lanparty board (Click) (http://www.dfi.com.tw/Product/xx_product_spec_details_r_us.jsp?PRODUCT_ID=2840&CATEGORY_TYPE=MB&SITE=US) that is in his sig then yes it does support SATA:
* Supports four SATA
