I think because they diden't think the next Xbox 360 would do very well considering the first Xbox lost money on each purchase and they figured they were better off being with Sony (profit wise) considering PS2 sales/ profits.

Sony lost money as well. However, the PS2 had/has a longer life between the it and the PS3. Sony's production cost had time to go down enough to actually profit on the hardware later on.

The Xbox, in comparison, came out after the PS2 and the 360, before the the PS3, so MS is losing the most money to play catch-up to even try to be the market leader by being first (one reason Sony is now).

I think MS is fucking like Nintendo did by not including an upcoming popular medium for their games (if they still are doing that).

You must include either HD-DVD or Blu-Ray to stay competitive.

Many are already touting the fact that they'll have a HD disc player when they purchase a PS3.

Btw, I was told that Blu-Ray and HD-DVD were supposed to be recordable formats off the break. No waiting for HD-DVD+RW or Blu-Ray+RW bullshit.

WTF is up with Sony and the Blu-Ray disc player?
